Scheffer does have a few clues that look good, but me as well as about 25 other people tore it to pieces last night. The medallion is not in that park, I can almost guarantee it.
I just did a search to see what the internet would say was the 'greatest sport' and it gave me everything from Air Hockey to Wrestling. Seems that everyone thinks that their sport is the greatest. UMPH! Back to the noodling board.
I always thought the greatest sport was either baseball or football. Guess that shoots holes in my theory.
That Vulcan thing sounds like fun! I just might have to join East Side tonight when he gets the paper at PP.
I don't recall seeing any soccer fields marked in THG. Although I can't say that for sure as East Side has our THG with him at the moment. I'll see what I can dig up on the internet and let you know if I find anything.
Soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world, but I'm not sure it's really known as the greatest. Maybe the earlier part of the clue is a hint as to which sport.
Yeah, AW your right. I might be way out here in left field on the soccer field idea. But in case anyone is interested here's what I was able to come up with for Soccer fields around St. Paul: McMurray West, Como Park St.Paul, MN From the intersection of interstates 35W & 494. North on 35W to 94. East on 94 to Lexington Ave. Left (north) on Lexington to Como Ave. Left (west) on Como 2 blocks. Soccer field is in the middle of the field complex south of Como Ave. (west of 2)
Wilson/Expo Middle School, St. Paul, MN From the intersection of I-94 and Snelling Ave. North on Snelling to LaFond. Right (east) on LaFond 3 blocks to Pascal. Field is on the corner of LaFond & Pascal.
McMurray East, Como Park St.Paul, MN From the intersection of interstates 35W & 494. North on 35W to 94. East on 94 to Lexington Ave. Left (north) on Lexington to Como Ave. Left (west) on Como 2 blocks. Soccer field is in the middle of the field complex south of Como Ave. (East field of 2)
Arlington/Arkwright Park, St.Paul, MN From Downtown St Paul: go north on 35E to Maryland Exit. Go East (right) on Maryland 2 blocks to Arkwright. Go North (left) on Arkwright (1/2 m) to Arlington. Field is on East side of park.
I know there are soccer fields at North Dale also. I don't believe you can see the Capitol from there, but they did just rebuild the rec center. There's a church across the street. I'm sure there must be a flag somewhere. Not sure how well it fits the rest of the clues though.
I spent my lunch tme there today and I can see how the clues can fit. I am just not 100% sure that the med is there. Most years I can hang my chopper on the correct park with a fair amount of certainty, but not this year.
Dawg- I have class until 930, and I think i'll head on down to the PP. So maybe I'll see you there. Maybe I'll wear a name tag or something!
Jester- I too am a solo hunter tonite (I think). I didn't end up making it last night. But I plan on it tonite. I'll keep an eye out for you and your hat!
Jester. I was thinking exactly that today. If it wasn't in a park, they'd really have to start giving us that info now. and it just doesn't seem like it's going in that direction!
Sorry you're ill, Chad. I'll run down there and grab it for us.
Heading out shortly.
Even called in sick today. Normally I call in well. Go get it Ian!! I was joking about getting it for me, btw. A split is fine! :-)
Hi there,
Scheffer does have a few clues that look good, but me as well as about 25 other people tore it to pieces last night. The medallion is not in that park, I can almost guarantee it.
I just did a search to see what the internet would say was the 'greatest sport' and it gave me everything from Air Hockey to Wrestling. Seems that everyone thinks that their sport is the greatest. UMPH! Back to the noodling board.

That Vulcan thing sounds like fun! I just might have to join East Side tonight when he gets the paper at PP.
i'd have to agree that the greatest sport is probably soccer. but american sport would be baseball.
Ok - so what parks have a soccer field in them?
dawg- that i don't know. i'll have to look later when i'm not at work!
I don't recall seeing any soccer fields marked in THG. Although I can't say that for sure as East Side has our THG with him at the moment. I'll see what I can dig up on the internet and let you know if I find anything.
are you going to PP tonite?
Soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world, but I'm not sure it's really known as the greatest. Maybe the earlier part of the clue is a hint as to which sport.
The greatest sport is Treasure Hunting. I believe the clue is in the line before the last line.
It doesn't involve pulling letters out of the clue as written again, does it?
No, my thoughts are similar to those you posted last night - slightly different but we ended up in the same place.
Well anyway, I'm going to go get ready to head out and put in at least some nominal hunting time.
hi all im back went to mounds and hi i saw a bald eagle fly over head down by the high bridge

leelabell-- i love that idea. i think you're so right!
dawg-- thanks for the soccer tips!
Oriongirl79 - yeah, I think i'll take a nap when I get home so I can join East Side tonight at PP. Are you going?
I know there are soccer fields at North Dale also. I don't believe you can see the Capitol from there, but they did just rebuild the rec center. There's a church across the street. I'm sure there must be a flag somewhere. Not sure how well it fits the rest of the clues though.

oriongirl, were you there last night? i didn't know how to find you.
The greatest "sport" is a mind game

or i could end up with egg on my face....
I just got back from 5 1/2 hours at HI
Yachting = St Paul Yacht Club
Jester. I was thinking exactly that today. If it wasn't in a park, they'd really have to start giving us that info now. and it just doesn't seem like it's going in that direction!
I saw a plaque on the great walk that said Three miles of lEvEE
I have been doing tis for 22 years and this years clues seem to be the most interesting, or should I say confusing or misleading?
I also noticed the train bridge is tower #2 and Robert bridge is tower #3 and they run into each other on the opposite side.(2or3)
too much fits HI
Yacht racing as in Americas Cup is playing to those folks the same as it is to a football player in a football game.
they musta hid it pretty well, planning to give it to charity this year.
I agree with you on that 88!
search for truth is justice and it don't matter if it's base ball, hockey, yatching or the greatest of all Mind game.
Justus
I stand corrected
Search for the truth as in Justice Ohage.
I should have spell checked!
Bwaahaaa!
Head on out, have not a doubt
A good time to take a stroll
Does this mean head out of the park to the walking path to lillydale?
Too many flags to count on the Wabasha Bridge!
AW is a hot noodling babe!
