I'm still stumped on this clue, so far I can match all 3 clues to 3 parks
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:17 PM Permalink
LiLMan

these clues are simple lets keep it that way and not be stupid about it

I think this year is going to be like early years before computers were they will build up to where it is and only give 1 portion of the landmarks to us. meaning they will keep us spit up for awhile. lead us one clue at a time closer to the prize.

for 5 dollars I will tell you what the famous "Clue Master" thinks about this clue, just paypal the money to tim_the_hunter@hotmail.com

Clue 3 tells us a landmark that matches the part, one which is unique. We have to figure out what the uniqe is, and forget about the other possabilities.

does anyone know if you can see pearsons from chair-o-key?
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:21 PM Permalink
LiLMan

or any other park?

I know that the Vulcans coming out use to be at the brewery every year up until about 99
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:22 PM Permalink
tom

If we can see pearsons, then what is it hidden in? By now, by the third clue we already know i) type of park ii) what its hidden in and iii) visable / nearby landmarks

If its the pearson factory being visable, then what is it hidden in?
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:23 PM Permalink
LiLMan

so mix drink with vulcan activity would = landmark brewery and the vulcans coming out

ANYONE?

went to Rice, after I left clue central earlier....

I felt stupid for being there, and even thinking that there could be a chance in hell it was there...

but hey...

I hunt, therefore if theres even the slightest chance I thought it might be there... I'll go look...

so I did.

there were 6 teenage kids hangin out inside the fountain, who had no idea that new clues come out at night.... told me that they had been in the same spot, for 2 hours, and were convinced it was there....

checked out most of the park for maybe an hour....

I feel so lost...

Please just send me to the frog pond?

I need sleep....

badly.

they poked fun at the people who complained a few years ago.. crewler the crew who prattled and barked.

they made fun of Joe - say it ain't so, clueless joe

why not make fun of the Vulcans for their actions?
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:33 PM Permalink

like hidden falls, crosby and highland. any takers?

I'm off to bed to think about these clues, trying to figure out what clues are what. (What clue shows what its inside, and what clue its the landmark). After all, todays clue could be whats inside of (Santa Hat), seeing Santa brought the volcun buttons down from an airplane.

Well I know one thing for perty certain that its hidden in a regional park. My first guess was on day one it was a park with a lake,

have you read the winter carnival legend
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 11:40 PM Permalink
Love4Vino

Here is a stretch

Circus Juventus is in Highland.

I'm guessing many a hunter goes to Circus Juventus, (during the winter carnival performances) It's warm in there - and globe shaped. (global warming)

The Circus is something that children love to do. Circus Juventus is a YOUTH (child) performing school.

I think highland park somewhere down by the Circus Juventus, in the woods near the parking lot. Stuck inside some sort of pearson's paper - frozen into a chunk of ice.

Just back from A park. Not sure if it's THE park abut it was a nice enough night out there that it really didn't matter. Anything to get the brain working again.

I've got $5 for ya Tim if you don't post what I think.

I do have to say welcome to the new people though. Nice to see some new names on here noodling.

One thing to remember is that I really don't think anyone needs to question if the clue is the right one or not on these boards. That kind of stuff was pretty much eliminated when we came here. It's amazing how much BS $10 can keep out.

FWIW - I also think it just says playground or the like. Which does rule a few parks out but not many. I do like how it's now clue #3 and they still haven't said Ramsey or St. Paul yet. I always wondered why they would chop their options in half right away at clue 1 when you could use the same clue at #5 and keep the suspense and questions flowing about which park it's in. I'm still hanging on clue #1. Which is odd.

Mr. Med Hunter

proclivity - an inclination or predisposition toward something

What if it's going against our inclination that it "won't be in the same park two year's in a row" or the inclination "that it won't be in a smaller park because of parking"

Unfortunately, I just keep seeing the playground in the pic-a-nic-Booboo area at CoNo.

Please, no CoNo. I gotta do some Mappy Gooey Guy book reading and find another playground and get that image outta my head.

Please just send me to the frog pond?

Nick, go to the Frog Pond.

I saw some really good noodles! Vino! awesome, woman!

My thoughts:

The first 2 lines are the historical reference to last years' crap with the Vulcans.

The last 2 lines tells us it's near a playground.

Huzzah! That is all.

BC has a nice playground... Is that considered Oakdale, or Maplewood? Maplewood would be out (see Boxmeyer's article), but Oakdale wouldn't.

And for that matter, according to Boxmeyer's article Roseville is open territory. Ittiz West St. Paul we won't be going to...

Hhhhuuummm... Wonder if could tie that in with Mr. MedHunter's noodle on the thinking proclivity...
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 5:05 AM Permalink
Terry

My noodles as I woke this morning about this last clue....

We have proclivities...more than one.

Swings/playground, sledding in the winter, swimming in the summer, building snow forts and sand castles.
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 5:07 AM Permalink
green

You know... I bet there's no groomed ski trails at BC this year. What? They brought in the snow?

So that would [could] make that whole huge area south wide open territory. Just because the park has a playground doesn't mean you *gotta* see it; just that the park has one. At least at this point in the Hunt. Later, Clue 2 could mean more, that that's where the Med is.

Garter is also the name of a band used to keep sleeves up. In days of yore accountants and bankers wore them.

One last noodle before I leave for work...

Rec centers are full of children's proclivities.

We could be at a Conway type place this year.
