Great job on the map, Kitch!

Also, Otto Hummer Drive in Highland, which has the STAR swim program in summer with a large pool area for kids. Global warming-swimming in summer? Hummer Drive (swarming bees hum). Who knows who this otto hummer is anyway. Maybe nothing, tho.

Marydale Park was officially established in 1974 after several years of efforts by North End community citizens to reclaim the area around Loeb Lake. According to reports at the time of the park opening, the lake and area around it had been used as a dumping ground for at least a half century.

LOEB LAKE

Loeb Lake is currently designated as a children's fishing pond by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. It is stocked each spring with crappies and bluegills. Anglers might also find bullheads and a few bass within its waters.

Waiting for an "ear" somewhere in the next clue, with Loeb Lake there, we would have an early contender.

I do think, however, that the carnival peeps would get very, very nervous about putting the Med. so close to the Highland golf course. All the rookie idiots would dig up the course. I mean, people were digging around the Pearson candy property yesterday, and that is a private business, violation of carnival hunt rules and not even a park!

hardest clue so far and a majority of the people have there minds elsewhere...

this is not good!!!

IMHO...I blew my morning....bad bad bad...I'm ticked I spend all year focusing on this hunt and I wasted an entire morning...

Ok.. walk through isn't until 1 so I have a bit more time to get back to this.

that's not the case this year though. there's the one big ice sculpture there and thats it. the cords are pretty well secured to the trees in which the lights are.

In the 3 hours I've been at work, snow has been melting at a rapid pace, it's supposed to be just as warm tomorrow, and sunny.

Methinks this hunt doesn't even sniff double digits.

the address of the golf course clubhouse and the police station are both on edgecumbe not hamline.

Clue Master

People are generally smart when hunting. There are plenty of us out there that wouldn't hesitate to knock some idiot in the head for digging on a golf course. It was at Highland before and there were thousands of hunters out there and I don't remember anyone going across the road.
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 9:51 AM Permalink
OTiS

I went across the road.

I had to knock KITCH in the head.

Thanks KT. I just look at like a game of clue each day. It's ____ with the ____ at the ____.

Figure one of these days I might get it close.

billboards and bus stop signs are too temporary, imho. they could be changed mid-hunt and then the clue is no longer accurate. that's happened before with mock hunts (the peanuts statue on lamberts landing anyone? )
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 10:00 AM Permalink
Med2k

Was there a reference to a billboard at Merriam. I think one of the billboards across 94 had a radio or "on air" part to it.

But you could also see the KSTP antennas, so that point might be moot.

yeah - I knew about Mickey's. Last night on my mapping software I pinpointed Alary's, Mickeys and Pearson's factory.

Waiting to see what else I can find to pinpoint and surround.

Zeph, do you know the name of the parlor?

yup. hamline splits the park from the 18 hole course, edgecumbe splits it from the 9 hole course. but the disc golf course is in the ne corner of montreal and edgecumbe, and presumably since its not groomed like the ball golf course isn't off limits (don't quote me on that; i just assume the rule exists because of the care and feeding of ball golf coruses)

I think the first part of today's clue might just be saying that there is alcohol available nearby (Bar, liquor store, brewery) so be careful not to be foolish and drink while hunting. Like we would EVER do that.

There was an Otto Hummer that was a Quantum Phycisist (sp?) that helped prove a theory or something Otto Hummer

There is a person named Otto Hummer who lives in Saint Paul, Google gives his address and phone number. Quick! someone call him and ask why the street is named that! :worried:

That might be a good 'off season' project for me... hmmm.

The business on Maryland & Dale (I don't even know what it is, it's changed so many times) Used to be Coach's or Coachman's Pub, for a possible Marydale connection.

I'll be in Hennepin tomorrow. Three Rivers Parks just revised the geocaching policy, removing cache limits. w00t!

what the heck, its NOT at Highland

I wish I could believe that. I want to hide "Boreas Rex: The Royal Legend" there. Gotta burn a few more CD's, then it'll be ready to go.
