The idea is that you could show up at 11:00 and still have the same chance as anyone else. We drew them all at once. It did take awhile to hunt people down though. That's why we can draw numbers instead. If people have something to hold that they paid for, they won't forget to be around at pick time.

I think ESD was referring to the idea about picking numbers instead of people.

I was just counting down for Kitch to post one of his Real Genius salutes

He's obviously slacking.

Numbers or names - either is fine by me.

I guess I'm wondering what time numbers will be picked - is it like an 8pm thing or a 11pm thing?

Clue Master

More like 11pm

When we put our names in the hat for the drawing maybe we should have our list of picks on that paper.... incase we aren't in the bar?

Just an idea.....

The hat is what you will pick from OTiS. Not put in.

I am so confused, are people posting here too throughout the hunt? I thought that the whole group had relocated to AbleMinds? I will post here and there if I have to.

me2 - If it hadn't been about a month since we went north, we'd join the group tonight - but we have to get up there and check things out.

Max Metzger was the sub band teacher for my kids at Webster and they were then asked to perform in the Music Man production one year. That was cooler.

Has he died? I don't remember. I do know he did the summer band stuff at Como up until the last few years.

I know he was in a nursing home recently- and some of his stuff was sold at a church sale - I was so bumbed when I walked in and watched a woman walking out with a scrapbook about him :frown:

I heard he passed away but didn't see an obit on him. so I really don't know.

speaking of :frown: ....

a coworkers uncle and a RCHS boardmembers wife died on Dec. 27-28th .... both had cancer. ...

If any of you are familiar with Virginia Brainerd Kunz? She wrote many books on St Paul history. She has been the Editor of the RCHS magazine for like 40+ years... she just had a massive stroke Jan 2-3rd ---not expected to survive :frown: -dr said it was the worst they've ever seen

Terry

At least he had a good life and brought enjoyment to countless people who spent some nice summer evenings listening to his music.

I found this at the PP...it's the beginning of an article dated September 10th.

ST. PAULCITY HONORS BAND LEADER City officials surprised longtime Como Park orchestra conductor Max Metzger on Friday by naming a street in front of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in his honor.Kaufman Drive now is co-named Metzger Way. The city wanted to pay tribute to Metgzer's lifelong devotion to bringing music to St. Paul, said Carl Kuhl, spokesman for Mayor Randy Kelly. For 55 years, Metzger, 83, has conducted the Sunday afternoon "pops"

thanks Terry- thats exactly right- Metzger Way - shared with the other street- they both cross Lexington- thats how I knew, I saw the street one day a couple weeks ago. cool

and he is probably still alive then - but I will place him in my top 3 St Paulites to not make it much longer
