Once upon a time there was a noble and honorable king. The king had never lost a battle until one fateful evening when the fates turned against him. While defending his province from the ravages of evil, the tables turned. The king foresaw his fate. He knew his forces were doomed, and thus buried his treasure on the battlefield. The enchanted forest of “Battle Creek” arose on this hallowed earth. To this day, his treasure has not been found. However, a few stalwart creatures that protect the treasure still remain in the enchanted forest. If you are pure of heart and abide by the code of chivalry, they will assist you in your quest.

looks like fun, I've been wanting to go find letterboxes (not gc.com ones) for a while.

following most of the links allowed me to print out a lot of reading material for my

l-o-n-g trip across the ocean, and that's a good thing

heh, letterboxes originated in europe. Kind of a precursor to modern geocaching, except there's no trade items, just a hand carved stamp to exchange stampings with.

I've considered it more as geocaching has gone so mainstream and gotten rather hectic. Seems like letterboxes are fewer and farther between, and there isn't any sort of number issue. Maybe I'll make that one of my goals to do before the hunt, find all the letterboxes in Ramsey County.

"Less hectic" might mean that you can spread out your letterbox finds over the course of a few months or more :pbpt:

Exactly. Plus, it gives me new stuff to find in Ramsey County. Can't ever learn enough about the home turf for the hunt.
