This is the only thing that came up on yahoo or google-I haven't had time to look at it. It's a weird phrase-maybe barrows is used to rhyme with this. allison said to look for the tricks.
Weren't Pharoahs first mummified before being entombed? And weren't they entombed with gold and other things to signify their wealth and place in life?
When one compares someone who is dirt poor to that, sounds like there's something buried and the word earth is used.
But we are not to dig into the earth so it must be dirt/earth the medalion is entombed in.
I'm pretty old to this...but not Allison's hunts as I've had life get in the way the past couple of years.
Really - I like that Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood thing. It makes as much sense as anything else I've read or thought of.
Where is the big muddy bath?
How does Clue 3 fit anywhere?
I think the thought that wee lock is a trap is wonderful! That could very well be right...but it made me laugh!
Yes, I'm enjoying this. hehehehe
Wherever it fits! I went back and forth and finally settled on Mounds - because of the barrows = mounds and barrows = pigs.
Now it seems that noodle has oinked out.
What do you think now chris bc still on the top.Im going to go out early.
Mounds of dirt at como over by the frog pond terry and some mounds at phalen.
Have you all noticed how many clumps of earth there are laying along pathways from the plowing in the parks?
Allison I hope Im not going to be looking for chunks of the coin.(como)hehehe
I took some pics around the spot let me turn on the other putter and see if I can see that tree.
Anyone considering still going out tonight?
robrt rogo - You going out tonight yet or waiting till tomorrow?
Looks like the tree is an oak chris, actually both trees in the rock walls look like oaks.
I am going out first thing in the morning.
And wondering around a park alone at night might not be the wisest thing to do...and when the police ask you what you're doing there....lol!!!

Goodnight Chris I will e-mail you in the afternoon.
"And the lairds (lords)as poor as the sparrows"
I finally got to that too. I scanned the rest but I don't think there's anything else there.

Could you be grumpy because your dinner was lumpy?
Maybe this clue is one way to put your mind at ease.
Are these words fillers to the rest of this clue?
Hidden amongst terrain that might be called bumpy
Consider taking as your guide a group of fir trees.
Lumps and bumpy terrain
guide = a group of fir trees
If my dinner was lumpy, how would the rest of the clue put my mind at ease?
Makes me think that there's something tricky in those lines. Wish I could find it.
Grumpy was one of the seven dwarfs - and they might be considered Irish leprechauns?!?!
But we are not to dig into the earth so it must be dirt/earth the medalion is entombed in.
Exactly what i have been trying to explain to Artemis terry.I agree thats it for #3
That's why I had to clean the mud off the boots when I got home. All those muddy sod clumps.
Of course now they'll be frozen clumps again.
Maybe this clue is one way to put your mind at ease.
It could be a one way street which works with como or phalen.

Kenneth Mackenzie, better known as Coinneach Odhar, the Brahan Seer ....was born about the beginning of the 17thcentury...
graves, a stone in the water, etc etc.
bye !
oops sorry, just como
Have a good time at work. Stay awake so you don't have to explain the white rabbit!
giggle
hee haw
Thinking of going to bed myself. I think I work in the morning so I suppose I'd better be ready for it.
I hear Allison laughing all the time. It's a rather haunting sort of thing!
To avoid falling into a useless sort of fling
It's best to stay within another noble's domain.
Goodnight Allison!
Later Ian.
Scd,s and Mcl!
I am going to bed too!(dreaming of rabbits jumping over stonewalls ahhhhh)
Here comes Artemis!
I thought perhaps this could mean basketball and tennis courts...but courts is a word I associate with kings - but maybe that's just me.
Another noble's domain - queen? earl? knight?
Or could it be another king?
Goodnight to those toddling off to bed. I should be there too, but I think I'll get a cup of hot chocolate first.
Maybe its Marley King!
That's it! :-)
