OUR STORY

In late 2004 MINBIN.com was founded in the basement of a Northeast Minneapolis home. In the early days we became very

restless. There were some great sites out there, such as Ebay®, Match.com, and Craigslist. The problem was that we hated

shipping a toaster all the way to Oregon, or meeting a potential date only to find out that they were from Illinois and didnÂ’t look at all

like their picture. We said to ourselves, “there should be a website that is specifically designed for people here in Minnesota.” That’s

when the idea for MINBIN.com was hatched: a portal for Minnesotans, by Minnesotans.

Although we knew that sites like AOL® and Yahoo!® would always kick our butt on a national basis, we had the belief that we could

do our part to become the very best site for Minnesota. ThatÂ’s when the grassroots effort really started to take hold.

Several months after dreaming up how the website would look and what it would offer, we opened up shop in the old Northrup King

Seed Building near downtown Minneapolis. The building is full or artists and really represents an environment that is conducive to

creativity.

The result is what you see today. WeÂ’ve built the entire site around the needs and interests of us living here in Minnesota. When

you find products listed in the classifieds, youÂ’ll know theyÂ’re from people here in Minnesota. When you find a cute person listed in

the personals service, youÂ’ll know they live here in Minnesota.

I didn't want to go to st. anthony falls or minnehaha by myself at night...didn't really think of going down to eden prairie..

...those mpls. parks concern me at night...yes even minnehaha due to the lightrail.
