I’m not convinced on highland - that said all of highland used to be fort snelling’s “military reserve”. That would work for refuge here and the song I suppose.
also I believe you mean edgecumbe not edgerton the point remains…
At first glance, seems it could reference highland park. A few other clues can connect there, edgy/geometry for disc golf course, Edgerton st. but the military song doesn't seem to work.
Clue 2 has me off Swede Hollow now. It is very clearly a military reference of some sort and I don't see that at Swede. "If you want to belong" makes me think it might be a VFW reference as that is something a person can belong to. The "beast" that is returning could be a White Bear which has a VFW and is on Highway 61. David B. Allison

I'm gonna stick with 10 Swede Hollow until I get a better idea
I think Clue 3 is just saying the new puck is a different shape
But a geometric shape in a park sounds plausible
Edgy could be reference to a Edgerton street

I will go check shoreview commons today. It's an edgy park being that it's newer and different very cool. It's over arden hills and down the street from arden hills armory. Off streets dale, mound and Victoria. Seek not geometry of lore gives me new park vibes and also takes me away from Euclid street and battle creek area. I'm wondering if we are to stop looking for shapes and focus on numbers. In and out hear them shout (calling out numbers). Score has sooooo many different meanings. One of which is the number 20.
I'm sure I'll have a completely new park tomorrow to fit the clues. Ha! Stay warm out there today.
Veterans Park in Roseville is right next to the VFW, and very close to the very popular "The OVAL" skating area. There is an inside arena and an outside oval skating area. (In and out hear them shout). And the park is on WoodHILL Dr. with the Cross Stree ChurcHILL St. Just a few blocks over from Dale St. An oval is a different shape than what is used in Geometry. It is a nice park with a ball field, concession area, sand volleyball, and a large play area. I used to take my kids there.
Sounds like the shape coin, disc, is different than the past? Edgy and score.... Edge of Hockey Rink where you score?? Or edge of Ramsey County?
Here is the new clue:
Clue #3
To recognize this year’s prize
Seek not geometry of yore
Would it be found stop looking around
Only the edgy will score
And here are the previous clues:
Clue #2
Over hill over dale hit the dusty trail
Better keep rolling along
In and out hear them shout
If you want to belong
Clue #1
Santa Ana’s churning, things are burning
The city hills are glowin’
The beast returns as the hunter yearns
The answer my friend is blowin’
