It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

A word to the wise. Watch the language. Others have been rebuked, some even locked out.
Are we gonna hunt/noodle, or talk like giggley little five-year olds that just learned dirty words?
Absoluuuutely Matty. Besides, they would be asking for trouble by narrowing it down to the ONLY three parks with courses so early on. Stay away - that's the message. Besides - they like playing the bait & switch - so maybe hey want us to think Highland, Como, Phalen early on.
Barton, methinks most of the shooting for "Jingle..." took place in or around Rice Park downtown. There was also a scene down on Sheperd Rd. which is somewhat below Mounds.
Let's not turn this water cooler discussion into some B.S. childish antics arena. If you want a rag war, you can hit the bulletin boards of the later 1980's, been there, done that....onto more important matters. I don't think they're saying to stay away from the action of Hwy. 61, what kind of action is that, in any sense of the word action? Secondly, you're right Golden Boy, it's $10K this year, so why not make the most obvious reference to a place like Como, so that you tell everyone else not to go there? Reverse psychology has a way of really playing with you doesn't it? It couldn't be there, that's too easy, but what if they want me to think it's too easy for them to put it there...ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!
Thanks amy... i almost forced myself to watch some of that retched movie to see if i could pinpoint the locations.... anyways i think if scene & action refers to something to do with film it may be the item it's hidden in or a studio/theater nearby the park...
It's not in Keller! Every year people say Highland, Como, Cherokee, etc. There's a reason they say that: It's always hidden there. There is a great big list of parks in St. Paul, oddly enough the medallion gets hidden in about 3 of them. Brought up that theater thing earlier. It also could be play related as in the plays in the ampitheater. Anwyays, talk to you tommorow night. Time for the day crew to come in. Good Night all cooler folk. :)
Shovel Boy - mark my words: All the clues will either have ref: to Highland, Como, or Phalen until about CLue #10 - this is to handle the crowds spread 'em out at the large parks. Then about #10 they'll narrow it to a small park. Classic Bait-n-Switch. Newel Park has alot to it with Midway Stadium, Fair-View Ave, and Taylor Ave, and being in the 900 block of Fairview (9-5-4 somewhere). The PP is just playing with us. Do you get the Taylor reference?
right on shovelmaster... this year it has to be a huge park with ample parking everywhere.. maybe SouthPark??? if the clues get down to the end of the line whatever park becomes the overall consensus is goin to be swarming with diggers...
Your right keller is in Maplewood, their gofl course is run by Ramsey Cty and not by the City of St. Pau like highland, como, and Phalen. I am still partial to Phalen
