I have an older NEC where the hard drive is filling up and I'm not sure it's worth the money to have a larger one installed. The drive is partitioned and I store all my documents on the other partition which still has plenty of room.
What is disk compression and is this something that would save me some room? Would it affect the way things run? Would I have to compress both drives?
I do have some programs I don't use as often installed on the C drive. Can I move those to the D drive and still be able to run those when I need to?
which os are you running on the machine, terry? if its a newer version of windows 95, or windows 98 or newer, i'd recommend getting a program called partition magic and just combine the partitions into one c drive. the alternative, as you suggest, would be to move some of those lesser used programs to the d drive. uninstall them from where they are on the c drive, run the install program again, and when it asks where you want to install to, tell it the d drive.

Loaded Jaguar on two computers this week, a G4 and my little iBook. We're setting up a Wi Fi network.

Ok, did what you said and I now have access to the old PC from the newer PC but not access to the new PC from the Old PC.
When I click in Network Neighborhood on the new PC, I see both the new and old, but when I click on it on the old PC, it just hangs.
did you do it to both computers?
