It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Amy Trandahl
Treasure digger-- Do you remember me saying I e-mailed steve W. the guy who makes the st.pual treasure guide books?? Well he did e-mail me back saying it was a no go BUT I went to the library and found it there and made a copy of every page! lol look for rob and I too!! I am short, Blonde hair and 8 mos. pregnant in a red coat. Rob is alot taller than me so look for a goofy looking couple!! (i am sure it would be tough to pin point ANYONE with the crowds this year!!!
Let me get this right: if there are TWO medallions, do I have to find them BOTH to get the $$? Or can I turn in the one I found today for half? And that's ok Clueless, cross the river and it will all make sense...
From the Gold Mole: I am a treasure digging animal. After an easy days work I set out for a hard days night as I have for countless years in St. Pauls Parks. You may have seen me or as least a portion of my vast trail system. I am the one digging when all others have quit. I do not rest but merely give myself enough time to thaw my beard before I return to work. One day you will see me with the medalliam clasped in my swollen and chapped hands or in the hands of my brother nightdigger mike or my son the clue shrew....because we never give up, we never give up, we never give up, we never give up
Amy, I read my e-mail today and he was kind enough to send me a message apologizing for not renewing the book for this year. He said he definitely was going to have it available next year. Does the book help at all with the clues? Does it have most of the parks or how many does it refer to?
Maybe the next clue can be something about "OPen mindedness for all of you" you are so stuck on the parks it is not in, once again the park is near a private golf course. Private presenting the strict warning about destroying golf courses"
Who says there couldn't be 2 $10,000 prizes.... Seems an easier way to split up the crowds who'll be swarming like killer bees once the park is narrowed down. Cherokee looked like daylight at midnight last year (surreal)... There were people and cars everywhere...
Who is all going hunting after the clue tonight? We got the back of the ol station wagon folded down with blankets, so the little ones can sleep and we can dig, can't dig to far from the car though... Highland is just so BIG !!! We drove around forever trying to find something to relate to the clues and we couldn't. Police officer sat and talked to my husband for quite a while, he was undercover, saw quite a few of those, didn't see alot of people though...
I seen a few guys at Newell last night with bright orange hunting gear on. Hint:: THe popular outdoor attraction is not played in the winter and it's not baseball or basketball.
I was here last year and spent most of the daylight hours at Cherokee from the 3rd clue on. Never thought it was anywhere else but Cherokee. Am not a pro but am going to make it my hobby. Hope someone in the Water cooler "talking" finds the medallion.
Treasure digger, Rob and I made copies of the book and found it to be pretty cool! It pinpoints EVERYTHING, EVERY St. Paul Park has to offer and where it all is and I believe a little history too! It also has the surrounding area too for street references etc. It was wort the year at the copy machine ( I think!!) It may be a little out of date but its nice to have!! I suggest you to go take a look at the library!! They will not let you check it out due to some dumb reason but oh well!!
I'll ask you this because you seem to be making the most sense out of all this. I'm with ya. But what about the old and new? Water towers? They are pretty visible from most of HP and might refer to the "well" they tried so hard to fit in. Any thoughts? And MARSHAMELLOW: I was trying to make a JOKE. Speaking of Narrow Minded, don't come back until you find your sense of humor. It is needed for this task. And enough flaming for a while. Can't we all just get along???
ASU, it's in the 20's to 30's during the day - thought I heard them say a warm up for the weekend.... My advice: Layers and waterproof/warm footwear Lots O Snow
Any battle creek fans out there?? I didn't see many people out there today, but there were manya t newell and como. Phalen didn't have many either. I'm going to highland tom unless tonights clue sheds more light. Battle creek has me intersested
Christopher, Yes it is hillcrest and the only real nearby park is BEAVER LAKE park. Otherwise just ummmmmm hazel park is sort of in the area too. And you know..... Hazel Park JUST got finished putting up a BRAND NEW recreation center??????? Just a thought!
