2003 ThoseMedalingKids Mock Hunt

Submitted by ThoseMedallingKids on

Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:

The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.

Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.

There will be 12 clues in all.

The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)

The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)

If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.

Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.

I know where it isn't! In the bushes at the end of Page where ends at Chippewa. I walked around, behind and through those bushes. I pretended I was looking for a lost item in case anyone was watching.

Once I got in the middle of them I wasn't even visable from the street. There are even paths in there. What do you suppose walks in there enough to make a path?

Do you really want to know, OT?

I'm not seeing a historical marker at Newell. Is there one?

Of course it could be as simple as a cornerstone on a building, but somehow I think it's more than that.

IM has all those prairie grasses and wildflower areas now. Whether it's IM or not, I think that's important.

So what other parks have created those areas?

Seems to me like Newell fits everything well enough and nothing else seems to, so I think I'm going to stick with that until the next clue or until I get a better idea.

Always a good idea to have a goal in mind, OT.

Are you going anywhere during your week off Terry? Other than up north? Not that that isn't a fantastic destination.

How about the French Revolution? Looks like you got that one.

Trying to make the golf thing fit somewhere, I thought of all the golf terms I could come up with and one of them was clubs - irons and woods. What park doesn't have woods? I thought that would help that clue fit just about anywhere.

We're going up north to our place and then further north to the north shore to get in touch again with the Lake. Think we'll go up as far as Grand Marais.

Our neighbor up there went to Duluth today and said the colors are spectacular right now.

Hehe reg.

Like newell and IM

Maybe the coin is simply hidden in a golf ball or a golfball box.

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:24 PM Permalink
Terry

I know Marley - but where would you lose your golf balls? Sand traps, water hazards, the rough and the woods.

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:25 PM Permalink
OT

Sounds like a nice trip. I love Grand Marais. I love just about everything about Lake Superior.

Golf ball would be too small I think but good one with the box now that could be.
