There were varying degrees of annoyance - and even OT got to feeling like she had to go.
Anyway, the point of me telling you this is that despite being sort of a loose band, with no official heirarchy, there comes a point and time that for the good of the group and those involved that if someone's being tremendously disruptive, then they've got to go.
Whether or not that Jake has to go, I'm sort of two minds about that. On the one hand, I'm inclined to defer to those who have known/dealt with him longer. On the other hand, I'm inclined to ask the question of what exactly is the point of banning him? THX now has to sort of guess if he's getting in on other names, etc. Probably makes him paranoid and makes him spend too much time thinking about Jake, which sort of defeats the purpose of banning him to begin with.
Also, by banning him, doesn't that make the collective group no better than him? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of an all-inclusive, all-loving, all-hunting band of merry folk? More importantly, by banning Jake, doesn't that prove him right, that we're really not?
I think ultimately what we've got going here is pretty nice - an open forum for everyone else, and then for the year-round regulars, more private forums. And really, isn't there enough to make fun of jake about to let him back in?
Ultimately, I'll defer to those who lead and pay for this. but I don't see the point of banning anyone - it's ultimately fruitless and isn't what I understand this to be about. Plus, it's a slippery slope toward having set rules and regulations and whatnot. And at that point, we might as well just get elected to congress.

I don't want to be associated with a group where new people coming in, the media, etc., think Jake is a representation of what this group is about/the kind of people it's comprised of.
Just one - just *one* - example is those horrible pictures. Now, what are new people/hunters thinking? Will parents let their kids join us? Had Jake been pulling his shit in 2000, Timmers would probably never been able to make the Pity Party!

We have 3 girls - Emily is 9, Hannah will be 7 on April 16, and Natalie's 4. We really should try to get all of us (and them) together for a Spring/Summer picnic in the parks. Maybe even do a couple and gain some familiarity with the parks?

I struggled with voting him off for a number of reasons - not the least of which is that this has always been an all inclusive group. Banning anyone seemed to leave a bad taste.
But...the bottom line was and is that he is not one of us not because we said so, but because he has said so repeatedly through his words, actions and bad deeds to others here.
If we could get to a point where we could stop talking about this, I'd be one happy camper.
