Welcome to the 5th Annual Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt!
The treasure was found just before 9am on Wednesday, March 10th, by Me2. She will get a prize around $290 plus a variety of other goodies. It was found in Marydale Park on the north side in a pit under a tree near lamp post #12.
The wrap up party will be Saturday, March 13th at 8pm at Fabulous Fern's.
I guess I shoulda thought about that one before I posted it eh? :)

Our weekend plans have changed a bit as we'll be staying south here, but having dinner with some old friends who insisted on seeing us for our anniversary on Saturday. I'm assuming someone will be closing Fern's down on Saturday night, so if we find ourselves footloose before the evening ends, we'll stop by and toast the lucky finder!
even though I didn't follow the hunt (sorry AW, too busy!!!), I'll try to duck out of work early, otherwise I'll be there after 9. I gotta buy LL her birthday drink! :)

I kind of doubt we'll be able to come. We are using childcare Friday night already. It isn't so much the childcare, cause usually we do that for free, but if we're eating out Friday, it'll be hard to rationalize eating out Saturday too. But maybe we can do a little stop in at some point in the evening. I know Dad would like to get his sunglasses back....do you still have those, Allison? OH! And my cake servers from the rehash? I had hoped you would bring those to the predig, but forgot all about them.
I'll be out of town for the weekend.

i'm not holding my breath that we'll be there. we've decided to to a weekend paint-a-thon on the 3 upstairs bedrooms becasue, well, they look like shit. apparently, the previous owners used spackle as paint and figured it'd work in several places :)

The problem I see with that is twofold. One, some people won't do it at all if they have to pay to enter because they may not have that much time to participate, etc. Two, if you charge $5 to enter, then $5 may be all anyone gives and the pot would rarely exceed $100. They're not huge problems though. Maybe having a big prize isn't such a big deal.
A similar thought I had was maybe you could have registered and non-registered participants, sort of like buying a Winter Carnival button. If you register and pay, you can win the whole prize. If you hunt, but you didn't register, and you find it, then you just get like $20 or something and the pot rolls over to the next hunt.

I don't participate in the mock hunts, but I try to donate a little something to the cause.
If someone ever puts a wrestling ring into the mix, for a donation to the finder... and theres actually a fee required... I dont care how high it is, im in on that piece.

That would be me. I will do my best to defend my title. Since I can't search near where Marley parks (since he won't say where), I'll just have to search near where strangers are having sex in a van near the park.
note: a metal detector will not be used in the finding of the 2004 Marley King medallion hunt and I will never agree with the usage of the metal detector

Good job, Jake. I know how proud you must be to reach your goal. I know it must be pretty hard for you to find metal with a metal detector. Marley told me you were using it, but I thought you weren't that that much of an idiot. You can use that money towards some acrylic detector so you can totally ruin the pp hunt. $210 bucks, eh. I would've payed that much to see you totally banned from any medallion hunt. I am not kidding, and I am not taking this back. I hope this is your last find, or your last hunt period. I am not gonna hunt in any mock hunt you are allowed in. You suck and I really dont wanna be a part of medallion hunting if I have to deal with you. I spent a lot of time on this hunt and it really sucks that you found it. Ask anyone who I've talked to, my main goal of this hunt was for you not to find it, and you did. Ok first of all Jake had gut feeling it was at Marydale. During some chatting, I said "I am over 50% sure it is at Marydale". He said he felt the same way. We both hunt late at night and for long periods of time. If the first clue, in our minds, pointed to marydale, we were both going to dig the whole place up. My mom would have to stay up late, etc, to give me rides. And why?? Cause Jake, who offers me rides, talks to me about poker, and is really fun is some sort of enemy so I cannot hunt with him???
Secondly, you must take into consideration that I didn't know Jake other than from the pp line when I said that. I was going off of what others said about him.
