When Gary told me he had found Jesus, I thought, Ya-hoo! We're rich! But it turned out to be something different.

crabgrass

He even created the ability for you to hallucinate.

wasn't it Moses who had hallucinations of an angel?

and hey, wasn't there a burning bush involved?

hhhmmmm

but God said, `You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

the tree He speaks of is the tree of knowledge

the fact remains...this "tree of knowledge of good and evil" isn't the plant Kaneh-Bosm

you support the outlawing of one of God's goodcreations.

"try to gain knowledge and you die"

Maybe the Fall from Paradise was pre=ordained. Man needed to sent a way from God in order to return to God.

I discovered, to my initial surprise, that there is an extensive body of evidence supporting Christianity's exclusive truth claims. Knowledge of this evidence doesn't automatically lead one to faith, but it certainly helps to remove obstacles we sometimes unwittingly use as excuses for neglecting our spiritual "business" or flat out rejecting the truth.

it's not the Tree of Kaneh-Bosm, now is it?

Kaneh-Bosm is one of those seed bearing plants and herbs that your God created for man to use as meat...that is until people like you came along and demanded it be outlawed.

You have a lot of balls outlawing something your own God made to use.

It is obvious that we now know that Kaneh-Bosm is evil.

"We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden;'

It doesn't say anything about smoking the leaves of the dope plant.

It is obvious that we now know that Kaneh-Bosm is evil.

so, God created something that he said was GOODand you have now decided that God was wrong and that he created something evil?

not even I am thatconfident.

It doesn't say anything about smoking the leaves of the dope plant.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

now, we can go into the idea of smoke in the Bible if you would like, but I dont think you are gonna like what you find.

The plant isn't evil. It is how human use it or, when it comes to dope, misuse it.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Did God say, "Go and smoke it?"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. You are dishonest, crabs. Something may be improperly used.

Something may be improperly used.

define "improperly used"? Anything can be used "improperly" (at least in a way that SOME people might consider "improper")...just the vegetable kingdom alone...cucumbers can be "improperly", why aren't they illegal?

Jesus used his oils to heal...is that "improper"?

He also turned water into wine...so it can't be that he's against the idea of people using drugs. Alcohol is a drug.

Explain why consuming wine is "proper" and consuming cannabis is "improper"?

Did God say, "Go and smoke it?"

"shall be for meat"

means to consume as best I can tell.

Exodus 30
[22] Moreover, the LORD said to Moses,
[23] "Take the finest spices: of liquid myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet-smelling cinnamon half as much, that is, two hundred and fifty, and of aromatic cane two hundred and fifty,
[24] and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin;
[25] and you shall make of these a sacred anointing oil blended as by the perfumer; a holy anointing oil it shall be.
[26] And you shall anoint with it the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony,
[27] and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense,
[28] and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils and the laver and its base;
[29] you shall consecrate them, that they may be most holy; whatever touches them will become holy.
[30] And you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests.
[31] And you shall say to the people of Israel, `This shall be my holy anointing oil throughout your generations.
[32] It shall not be poured upon the bodies of ordinary men, and you shall make no other like it in composition; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you.
[33] Whoever compounds any like it or whoever puts any of it on an outsider shall be cut off from his people.'"
[34]
And the LORD said to Moses, "Take sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankincense (of each shall there be an equal part),
[35] and make an incense blended as by the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy;
[36] and you shall beat some of it very small, and put part of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting where I shall meet with you; it shall be for you most holy.
[37] And the incense which you shall make according to its composition, you shall not make for yourselves; it shall be for you holy to the LORD.
[38] Whoever makes any like it to use as perfume shall be cut off from his people."

I took a look at Pastor Jack's site, and here's what I found:

The Bible says smoking marijuana is wrong because:

I.It is bad for your body, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

So I looked up the verses, New American Standard version of the NT.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20
For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

I really don't see any mention of cannabis in those verses. If you do, pass what you're smoking down this way.

And, by the way, eating cannabis -- using it as "meat" -- is a nice high, too. You don't HAVE to smoke it.

Just curious. Maybe if I actually used illegal drugs I'd have a different perspective.

Crabby, do you use illegal drugs?

I have. Currently it's quit rare for me to use any drug outside of the "tines" (and the "tines" are far worse for me than marijuana ever was) and Glucophage.
