It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

OK I'll tell ya then I gotta go or my wife will kill me.
The translucent peak is on top of Sun Ray Shopping Center. The line of trees points to "Wood-ROW" Wilson, which borders the place. Sun Ray Branch of the St
Paul public library is within Border, there is a sliding hill on the east side, there is a Hockey Rink (4) countem (4) Baseball diamonds. I'll be at Conway after
breakfast wearing a Lutsen hat. Was there at 5am, signs are unmistakable. Gotta be an Iconoclast to win this one, guys.
Angel...yes be open but clue seems to be clear on the PEAK idea...maybe this will help... I believe it is a church steeple...I can't go digging today at all but will be
Dag, I like your logic about "Wood Row", but Magbru has a good point. Conway is a recreation center, not a park. Would the powers that be at PP do that to us?
somewhere on here i was searching around and found a list of all the parks in st paul...now can't remember where i found that. Anyone know where to find that?
There are at least two locations that people say are "hitting them right in the face". One is Conway Park, the other is the Capitol Mall, in reference to the glowing
translucent peak atop one of the office buildings. I haven't been to either place yet, but I think the clue writer *still* is teasing us. *One* of those places will
eventually yield the medallion, but people are still scattered all over the map. This clue writer must had a *ton* of fun last summer and fall, driving all over the city
Question: Is any kind of audible signal given when the medallion is turned in? Fireworks, sirens, or something? I can remember hearing that this was the case. Heard
something sounding like fireworks (lasted about five seconds) a couple of hours ago, so I watched the clue page for awhile but nothing changed. Can anybody help
The first apparent sign for the Conway Rec Area is at the corner of Ruth and Wilson. The sign may identify the park. (and it happens to be at the end of a line of
trees in front of an apartment complex -- if the clue is literal and figurative.)
There is also a scoreboard sponsored by Eastern Heights Bank -- that could make a "valuable" sign. . .
No, perhaps the park was 3M's, but it is a St. Paul "park" now.
Unfortunately, when I was there this morning, I realized just how much untrampled ground is left to be searched. The nexus of the three ball fields has been well

Ayyaiyaiyai, where is the medallion? I have no idea, I have no worries. I just like talking to you people.
Ayyaiyai, this is making me nutty. All together, now! Ayyaiyaiyai...... These clues are still vague to me. But I
didn't major in rocket science....<

Dagnabbit...where are you thinking?? What park...or dontcha wanna say?
Does anybody know if there is much of a hill at Conway Park??
Dag, help pput us out of our misery PLEASE! Share the park name, the side of town, give us a hint of some sort. HELP.
There is a sliding hill at Conway, if that is what you are looking for. It is NE of the library and not very big.
can anyone tell me where conway is?
Medallionhound you there? did you get with regalman last night?
couldn't the conservatory at como be an option too??
I hope you are not referring to Conway RECREATION center., NOT A PARK.
where is Conway??
yes it could angel...but do the other clues point there?
conway is located off of 94 at ruth street, wilson, conway right behind sunray shpping center. If you hit mcknight you've gone to far on 94
like the idea....what about the 5 in 9-5-4?
Angel...clue said a PEAK not a dome....they have used dome references in the past for conservatory, cathederal, capitol, etc... :)
Some of them do--I agree with the torpedo thing....but i will study the clues more!
Oh well!
we still need to be open to ideas don't we?

Is anyone still on that golf course thing?
Conway Rec Area was Conway Park long before they built the Rec Center building, ball fields, etc.
Besides, the other clues fit too well...
Angel...yes be open but clue seems to be clear on the PEAK idea...maybe this will help... I believe it is a church steeple...I can't go digging today at all but will be
there tonight if clue helps... :)
Dag, I like your logic about "Wood Row", but Magbru has a good point. Conway is a recreation center, not a park. Would the powers that be at PP do that to us?
Vasco--how do the other clues fit with Conway
I don't think Conway but who knows... here is something else...when you YEARN you LONG.... :)
Mushie-- what is your opinion of the round and white and stretched quite tight thing??
somewhere on here i was searching around and found a list of all the parks in st paul...now can't remember where i found that. Anyone know where to find that?
In my opinion it's seran wrap.
mushie - smart, where does that lead you to?

finding things that all the parks have in common!
I am thinking baseball... you have score, game, home... also twice clues say figure OUT.... what do you think?
ANGEL --
Conway was a park (now a "Rec Area", but I think the distinction is too fine).
There is a sliding hill at the east end of the "park."
It is off 94, near Highway 5; near the 400-500 block north of Ruth St.
Clue #6 is Babe Ruth.
Clue #7 is Woodrow Wilson.
Clue #8 is the atriums (atria?) at Sun Ray shopping center. (Line them up to get only one "peak.")
And it is a new park - never used before for Winter Carnival fun.
What do you think?
could be--They could have broken it open and jammed the thing inside--now that would be horror to find.

I totally agree Eagle Eye...that is why so many areas seem to fit! But that is the fun of the HUNT!! LOL! think LONGfellow sharon :)
Vasco- you're farther ahead than me, but it IS something to ponder exessively!
Vasco...what is VALUABLE SIGN in clue 7 according to your theory?
Hmmmmmmmm... longfellow is good too

me with an answer to this?
Conway is a playground, not a Park. It was a Park back in the 1950's. Eags # is gone.
Ponder this... trees in a line>the timbers of a railroad track sign>a railroad crossing. Anybody?
conway is still public ground

Pablo: Thanks! Just left a message.
Eagle eye... a cannon goes off....
Mushie: Thanks for the info!
now i see..but Vasco--isn't that park on 3M property
We were out and heard the same noise...don't know what it was, but it sounded like metal.
Hey SnoHuntress! Glad to know it wasn't a hallucination. Pretty sleep-deprived here!
Thanks Vasco... can see why you think it is there but I think that clue 6 ... "name" is the name of the park.... :) I think valuable sign is $ related
Angel -
No, perhaps the park was 3M's, but it is a St. Paul "park" now.
Unfortunately, when I was there this morning, I realized just how much untrampled ground is left to be searched. The nexus of the three ball fields has been well
combed, but there is a lot of park left. . .
