List 'em as you get 'em. If one is done, confirm it or reject it.
We'll average them out. This is very much a work in progress.

I think that's a good start, to get something. Hopefully, confirmations can be added after witnesses, finders, etc. agree/disagree.
I'm kinda fired up about this again. Lots of 'caching possibilities with some of that info available.
i'll do what I can........
a group effort. I like it! I'll contribute what I can.
BTW, is there a good way to list all the years out, the park (or area), and then the coordinates? I've got 2004's coords

you want GENERAL park cords??
Like what are the cords for MARYDALE???
Nah, I think the idea is to get the coords of where the medallion was hidden, or as close as possible to the spot.
Most of the 12th clues list the spot out in paces, so we should be able to hit them relatively close to the actual locations.
i.e., for the 2004 coords, I went to that pile of sticks downtown dave showed CM and I at the rehash, someone placed them there to mark where the medallion was found.
I'll do what I can too.
(it was Santa Dave KC)
should be fun......
I'm hitting up Como next week, and there just MIGHT be a few new caches. Heh
Cool, Como's on my way to/from work
the more the merrier. I'll run a map via MS mappoint as we go along too.
I'm not feeling well. I think I need to do some therapeutic walking.
Yeah, that's the ticket. I need to leave work early, recuperate.
Heh
Oh yeah ...
Porky's for a nice healthy lunch.
hahaha, I work close to Porky's. Oh yeah, I can get the Newell park medallion locations easily one of these days (though this week I got an activity going on, so I'm not going to be getting much of anything done on this or geocaching all week).

Done. I'll upload later.
I couldn't figure out 1956.
good luck on '56...
hmm..doesn't that look like the log was a fake log that had a piece that came off???
I've seen those before...hahaha
I'd been pondering the idea of researching the old newspaper copies at the St. Paul Public library downtown. Figured the winter would be a better time, since it'd be nice to be indoors a bit.
I'm guessing they'd post the explanations in the papers a day or so after the medallion was found, and if the clue didn't tell you exactly where it was, the newspaper should...
hey kc. coolercrew.com has got all the explanations that greg sax could get his hands on from all the hunts. you may want to start there. if you do go to the library, feel free to fill in any blanks we may have there.
Gotcha, been lookin at those too. I don't know if Greg lost some info, or if the library has less than a complete collection.
I do know the Minnesota Historical Society also has copies of the old papers, and whatever I can't find at the library I'll try to locate there. If I do find any extra info, I'd be happy to fill in the blanks on the site.

Well so far here's the Como Medallion locations.
That's really cool.
Nice job KC!
Although 2003 looks like it's positioned on the left side of the 'Y' when I think it was on the south side by the path. Is that where you were? Just off that path on the edge of the woods? It might look different to me from above tho.
There are more trees down there now, but I followed the clue directions to the last hills, then paced it from there. It "looked" like the same area, and if it's off, I don't think it's much.
I know you were there. I'm sure the cords were right but it might just be a hair off when transferring to the map. No biggie
Or the map may be a hair off as well...? Also I had to translate the coordinates to decimal form to import them to mappoint, so the decimals get rounded off at a certain point. I'm not assuming we'll get everything perfect either, but in the ballpark will be a great accomplishment in itself. Shoot like Ian said too, a few people getting the locations, even the same ones, will help average the locations out.
Wish I had more time this week, now that I have a little motivation to get this project going. Ah well, still got time.
I had a dual purpose. There are now four new caches at Como:
Return of the King
Cooler Crew Chicks: Scribe
Another Brick in the Wall (2.0)
The Get Smashed Event
Does make me wonder if even the cluewriters are privy to this kind of information. Looking at the map for just 5 or 6 spread out hides, they've hit very close to the same locations in the past.
BTW, since Phalen is my turf, I'll try and make it out there next week or so to get the ones from there, possibly the Phalen-Keller area altogether.
I had a dual purpose. There are now four new caches at Como, including the infamous Cooler Crew Chicks: Scribe.
Woohoo! Hopefully I'll have some opportunities for FTFs, and my latest goal of hitting 400 by the end of this month (I figured if I could do 100 in July, why not 100 in August?)
It was weird getting the coordinates. I thought, "Damn, they're all right here!"
And I think 1956 is by the old RR bridge, very near there as well.
damn it...I got time off this afternoon as was going to be hangin' out a como for a bit....
hmmmmm....wonder if I can find "scribe".....
Â
I got a good Idea where to look for another brick in the wall....
hmmmmm....wonder if I can find "scribe".....
I've been to McMurray Field a half dozen times, trying to place a cache. Finally got it done yesterday, although I'm not totally happy with the spot ... especially with the goodies inside.
I got a good Idea where to look for another brick in the wall....
DUH
hmm mcmurray ..isn't that the spot with all the TREE's that fell down.....
great..i'm sure a ton of spots to look there now....
hahahaha thanks for the GCXXXX name....I got a feeling I know who's going to be FTF on that now....
Â
but to be fair to KC----GOÂ SW of the pool...and look for it...hahahaha
If you can get it, go for it, like I said, I can't cache much this week. If I'm lucky I'll wake up early when the como ones get posted on gc.com, as that's about the only time I can get out.
IF i'm lucky I'll be there in about 2 hrs......
I should be able to get scribe...
I should be able to get scribe...
Don't tell J. T.
I still gotta figure out how the heck those boys can figure out the waypoints with the cache name before its approved....
Got me, I didn't know anybody did, at least without inside information...?
So a new cache popping up at Phalen soon too eh?
So a new cache popping up at Phalen soon too eh?
hopefully, gotta do my magic and squeeze out a spot.
nice hide IAN...FTF on a cooler cache ...nothing cooler...hahahaha
Tough to rehide it...Make sure you put something about that in the cache page...
also...wow nice stuff in the container....I'll log it as soon as it is appproved...
So did you go out blind without coords Kitch? Congrats!
hehehe
Lets put it this way...IAN didn't give me cords....
but I have ways to find them....and nope didnt' get them from any admin or apprvrs from gc.com
but i was able to get them...hahahahahaha
Â
Hmm, Well I hope it pops up soon, I think I just managed to get some free time Thursday evening.
Got Newell, or as close as I could figure them to be. I'm more sure about 2000's because the final clue paces it out, 1984's just tells you it's near the foot trail on near wheeler and hewitt.
1984, N 44° 58.002 W 093° 10.496
2000, N 44° 58.032 W 093° 10.560
And here's the map for Newell
1.) Are you planning anything for Newell?
2.) I have a letterbox/hybrid all set for Newell, using clues from 1984. Is there anywhere near that area to hide a micro?
1) Nope, and if I did, it'd be in that northeastern forest area, not sure if that'd mess with anything you had, but either way, I haven't seriously looked into it.
2) There's a large boulder near the foot trail, might find a micro spot there?
Thanks !

Ol' King Boreas has hidden the cache
Right here in Ramsey County.

To enjoy his Royal Bounty!

Giant arms by the hundreds
Reach up for the sky,
In summer they're green
In winter they're dry.
3.
Go West, young man
And you gals too.
You'll be headed right
If you follow this clue.
4.
Sideshows and fair folks,
And pronto pups too,
These are things
To keep in view.

Or put on your blades,
This is among

And a servant named Jeeves
Will help pull the secret
From out of your sleeves.

I can't stand
To be so cruel,
Think of a park
That rhymes with jewel.

There's a footpath near
Wheeler and Hewitt.
Nearby lies the booty,
Now go out and do it.
