Way cool.

<edit> Maybe flyoverland is scheduled for the second set of dates, in 2005.

Woo- hoo!!  :D

I've often thought over the recent years that "Revolution Calling" is becoming more and more appropos.

Does the fact that this tour is sponsored by VH-1 Classic inherently make this uncool?  Signs point to yes.

Who cares. If it's a good show, cool can bite me.

If it's not cool, I'm not going.  ;-)

Right, because that's been such a deciding factor for the decisions you've made in the past.  :D

I'm going to see Arlo Guthrie tonight.  Does that count?

Sweet!  Yup, that counts.  :)  (well, in my book anyway)

Wait, count as being cool or uncool?

As being cool, silly.

I think you lose cool points for even asking the question.

Mon, 09/27/2004 - 10:40 AM Permalink

You realize I don't have enough cool points to be able to lose any.  Especially on a technicality.

Mon, 09/27/2004 - 10:44 AM Permalink

You also lose points for admitting that you care that you're not cool.

Man did you sleep through Cool 101?

Color me uncool.  :)

Hey you people started it. I'm tragically unhip and proud. Just trying to help...

Stupid question time: I'm trying to post pictures online, but the site says it's too big (pic). What's a non technical easy way to shrink the file?

Mon, 09/27/2004 - 5:46 PM Permalink
Frosti

The simple, almost non technical way I use is to use the paint application.  Under the "Image" menu, choose Stretch and Skew.  Change the horizontal and vertical by the same factor.  For me, if I'm taking pics on the 640x480 resolution I need to shrink to 70% of the original.  YMMV.

A couple pics from tonight's show. They turned out a little fuzzy, but my camera struggles for quality in low light situations. Overall, not horrible.

This one's probably the best of the bunch, for clarity and closeness of the three performers.

Hee, I've always loved that song.

Here's what I remember of the setlist (I make no claim to the proper order)
The Pickle Song
This Land is Your Land
Me and Bobby McGee
Gypsy Davey
City of New Orleans
Waimanalo Blues
Coming Into Los Angeles
When a Soldier Makes it Home
When the Ship Comes In

Nice.  Any polemics between songs, or pretty straightforward pickin' and singin'?

Loads of between (and during) song talk.  Much of it in the same vein as the Pickle song.  He's a born storyteller.

<sigh>  I figured.  Damnit.  Did you record it ala Deadhead fashion?  :)

From Mrs. Frosti's blog:

Got a bamboo blind for the window at Home Depot.

Got a curtain (actually, it's a shower curtain, but my Singer and I are going to have all sorts of fun mutilating it to fit my needs) at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that's gauzy and shimmery and multi-colored and I fell absolutely in love with it.

Found a fantastically geometric and colorful picture also at Bed, Bath, and Beyond to hang above the tub. Looked up, saw it, heart went pitter-patter, went home, thought about it, stood in the bathroom, thought about it some more, went back to BB&B and bought it. *grin

Got coffee-colored bathrugs/towels, got them home and in place, didn't like them. Took them back, got my second choice: red. Nervous about the red, so I'm waiting until blind/curtain are in place before putting them in place.

So...unless I change my mind on the sponge painting, the main bath will be orange sherbert, white tile, seafoam green, and then this wild multi-colored array of pictures/curtains/rugs/towels. And a bamboo blind. This is either going to be absolutely gorgeous or absolutely revolting when it's all finished. ;)

So when I get home, if I still don't feel well, remind me to use the other bathroom.  Because this color combo could push me over the edge...

Oh, yikes.  I feel your pain, man.

Edit: Oh, and I hope you feel better soon.

I went to bed super early last night, got some good sleep.  I feel better, but not 100%.

You can see the bathroom on Saturday and judge for yourself.  Just smile and nod and say "I like it" like I do.  :-)

Hee, just what you need to see in the mornings.

My bathroom is stark white and chrome with a peace lilly and blue candlesticks as the only color. It's pretty hard on the eyes first thing in the AMs too.

That's the bathroom I shower in, because I like the shower there better than the one in the master bath.  So I just leave the light off in the main bathroom and turn the light in the shower stall on.  The stall is all tiled, so I don't see any orange.  I do the rest of my morning bathroom activities in the master bath, which is a lovely beige with beige patterned marble.  Much easier on the eyes.

Oh, and to change the topic completely:

Since we moved into our new place, there's been a chocolate lab that comes and takes a crap in our yard about once every other day.  I never see it, but Mrs. Frosti does and it really frosts her cookies (to steal a term from another thread).  This morning, I was walking through the living room and saw the dog squatting in our front yard laying one down.  I grabbed a plastic bag and ran outside.  I scooped the poo into the bag, tied it to the dog's collar and sent her home.  I wanted to write a note that said "Your dog forgot this in our yard" but figured by the time I got pen and paper the dog would be gone.  I'm thinking the owners will get the message without the note.  :-)

Very elegant solution to the chocolate lab.  You are a genius.

I'm, ah, looking forward to seeingthe giant creamsicle.  I guess.  :)  Hopefully it won't give Mrs. Sparky any ideas.
