When Gary told me he had found Jesus, I thought, Ya-hoo! We're rich! But it turned out to be something different.

Byron White

Change one word in that sentence and you wouldn't doubt me if I told you it came out of the mouth of Arafat or bin Laden.

But their tactics are different. You liberals seem to gloss over that fact.

And yet here jethro bodine 11/23/04 7:14amhe agrees with the statement that the Democratic Party is not just different but an enemy of what Christians value.

In general that is true. I can see why you have problems, pieter, you are easily confused.

assuming the end is that his truth is imposed on everyone,

the truth can't be "imposed" on anyone. the truth is what it is and just because certain people try to ignore or discount it doesn't change a thing.

if you misguided socialists are claiming that when a person expounds their views in public are somehow "imposing" themselves on others then you are simply wrong. It appears that what you really want is to shut those views off from public discourse.

In newspeak, "socialist" = "anybody who disagrees with me." It's a bit different from the definition in the dictionary and the understanding of the term by economists and political scientists.

At a party, I mentioned having grown up in Connecticut; the person I was conversing with asked "Connecticut? Isn't that a really socialist state?"

I responded that I hardly thought that a state that puts its butt way up in the air for the insurance industry could be called "socialist," whereupon he said that to him a socialist government is one that imposes taxes higher than he thinks is reasonable. No, he really didn't have a precise figure for what was reasonable. No, that didn't surprise me.

uh... the Democratic party is populated heavily with just that very demographic... the words you failed to include that would give this statement some semblence of reality are "fundementalist" and "extremist"

It's a bit different from the definition in the dictionary and the understanding of the term by economists and political scientists. The term fits a number of those that post on these boards.

Actually, I feel better in what happened in Minnesota.

Fought back to parity in the state house, something like 110K more votes for Kerry than Gore.

Get a good strong Democratic candidate for Governor -- who knows?

No but you can see that that society is becoming more conservative.  Kerry had to hide his liberal nature. Hillary is now trying to do the same. Liberal thinking is being relegated, as we speak, to the ash heap of history!

I'm reminded of that movie Bob Roberts with Tim Robbins, where he plays a right-wing folksinger. All his albums were similar in name to old Bob Dylan albums.

One of them was The Times are a-changin' --- Back!"

Is that the sort of thing you're talking about, JT? Mr. New Progressive.

Some things should go back to the way they were.

Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do for you..." ideal would probably be considered "Right Wing" by most Liberals today.

Anyway, hope is on the way, and that hope is the progressives in the Republican party.

Funny how some True-Republicans always quote John F. Kennedy when they need to Look like they are "Enlightened". Always during election time too.

What are you talking about?

Enlightened? You strange little man. I don't know where you're getting that from, because I simply use the Democratic hero of many as an example.

Like I said, the Democrats of today would consider their own hero a "Right Winger" based on his own words.

Perhaps you and others who do that, truly believed in him, and what he did for this nation...eh?

I don't know what that means, but he was killed before I was born.

And today's Republicans would consider Richard Nixon an extreme liberal. Hell, he established the EPA and was pushing for national health care. And let's not even mention China.

Poor Bill Fold

You're such a victim.

Why don't you address the issue instead of deflecting?

First of all, I am not as close to being little as you most-assuredly are and as you well know, since you once sat down with me at McGoverns... I have the pictures of how little you are to prove it. You were a little-punk then, and you are one now... "Spike".

You're right, I am smaller than you. I'm 5'10" and weigh about 190. Back then I weighed about 175.

Second; To call ME "Strange", is quite the stretch coming from you, since YOU once took the name of a little girl's Rapist and posted using that name as your MONIKER, to hammer at the Father of that same 12 year old Rape Victim. I would say that THAT, was MORE than a "Little Strange",

That's a bunch of lies! I never posted under whatever moniker it is you're talking about. I don't even know what moniker you're talking about. What was that monikers name? I'd like to look it up myself. You can go to the courthouse and look such things up you know? I remember some BS about this, but I don't remember what it was all about.

So until you prove to me and everyone here your accusations, shut up you liar!
