It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Is midway stadium public property, all of the clues would fit except the 954.

Amy,

The State Fair is in Falcon Hights.

I am constitutionally opposed to ever crossing off Newell. However, the number of clues that do not apply are growing (place of learning, translucent peak etc.) But

don't let me stop you, just be kind to my park.

Hillcrest is on Ford Parkway or whatever...and theres a row of trees along the road...But that might be a stretch.

hillcrest is on ford parkway and bohland and hillcrest st. across from Highland Catholic Elementary school, by St. Leo's church, and by BK

Allison, I think you are on the right track with Conway. The 9, 5, 4 could also be 9 innings (baseball), 5 sets (tennis) and 4 quarters (basketball)

The State Fair is, I believe, actually in Falcon Heights. And yes I did see that stake at Newell, and wanted to believe so badly, but it just didn't seem to be it.

black bart--why do you want to know? did you?

I agree Allison. I don't buy the nine being baseball, 5 being basketball, etc...

Beth....Hillcrest is surrounded by Ford parkway, Bohland and Kenneth streets....why do you think it is there?

So none of you think the KS95 or hwy 94 could be the 9,5,4 ? Or how about 9 for baseball, 5 for hockey or basketball, 4 for tennis doubles...whatcha think? :)

Hillcrest is on 1978 Ford Parkway (IE Ford Plant). In highland park. East of Cretin and West of Snelling.

Hey, everyone, would someone please tell me how a golf course fits into Newell,Conway or any of these smaller parks?

Black Bart

freshman...I figured you had to have been from that area. Yes, I went there many years ago....

Well, Smitty, for once a sports explanation of 4,5,9 I can live with, except for the front door part. For those who missed it earlier though, it probably doesn't refer to

the number of players on a team. Baseball has 9 players on one team, basket ball has 5 on one team, but it would take both teams in a tennis doubles match to make

four, which seems oddly inconsistent. 18, 10, & 4 or 9,5 & 2 would seem better.

ThoseMedallingKids

If 9 equals innings or players for baseball, and 5 is number of basketball players, and 4 is tennis players, why is there nothing about the hockey rinks contained within

Conway? The numbers need to be reconnected in a different way. I think that the 9 and 5 will be together, not all three together. The four will be separate from the

other two numbers....

Why would a golf course be needed with a park?

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 10:53 PM Permalink
Oh you didn't know?

I don't think the golf course part of the clue is relevant at all. They just worked the standard warning to stay away from golf courses into the first clue.

not much longer until #9!!!! Is anyone else really excited?

where else? anyone go to linwood

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 10:53 PM Permalink
Jason Kluenenberg

I'm telling you...On the some score boards...they have 9 innings, 5 circles for the ball/strike count, and 4 bases showing on what bases the players are on.

Allison Wonderland

It was never clearly established, only assumed by many (including myself) that clue #1 indicated the presence of a golf course. But the language is very ambiguous so

there's no reason to believe that there HAS to be a golf course.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 10:54 PM Permalink

has it ever been on a golf course?

point there though...

It wouldn't be on a golf course, they wouldn't want them wrecked.

Superstar

This is the Superstar! Think I ain't? I have to disagree with the 4,5,9 theory because 98% of the parks have baseball, tennis, and and basketball facilities. It would be

a big stretch!

snow dog, don't fixate on early clues and ignore the later ones. The clues go from general to specific. well and new were almost certainly too early for Newell,

because it is a small park. Plus the later clues don't fit. Let Newell go or you will end up in a metaphorical Frog Pond.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 10:57 PM Permalink
