It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
I am constitutionally opposed to ever crossing off Newell. However, the number of clues that do not apply are growing (place of learning, translucent peak etc.) But
The State Fair is, I believe, actually in Falcon Heights. And yes I did see that stake at Newell, and wanted to believe so badly, but it just didn't seem to be it.
So none of you think the KS95 or hwy 94 could be the 9,5,4 ? Or how about 9 for baseball, 5 for hockey or basketball, 4 for tennis doubles...whatcha think? :)
Well, Smitty, for once a sports explanation of 4,5,9 I can live with, except for the front door part. For those who missed it earlier though, it probably doesn't refer to
the number of players on a team. Baseball has 9 players on one team, basket ball has 5 on one team, but it would take both teams in a tennis doubles match to make
four, which seems oddly inconsistent. 18, 10, & 4 or 9,5 & 2 would seem better.
If 9 equals innings or players for baseball, and 5 is number of basketball players, and 4 is tennis players, why is there nothing about the hockey rinks contained within
Conway? The numbers need to be reconnected in a different way. I think that the 9 and 5 will be together, not all three together. The four will be separate from the
I don't think the golf course part of the clue is relevant at all. They just worked the standard warning to stay away from golf courses into the first clue.
I'm telling you...On the some score boards...they have 9 innings, 5 circles for the ball/strike count, and 4 bases showing on what bases the players are on.
It was never clearly established, only assumed by many (including myself) that clue #1 indicated the presence of a golf course. But the language is very ambiguous so
there's no reason to believe that there HAS to be a golf course.
BARTON--hiya, how's your searching been out there. Ithink its just a few of us still holding out for HP. Havent seen many other diggers out there yet. All clues still
This is the Superstar! Think I ain't? I have to disagree with the 4,5,9 theory because 98% of the parks have baseball, tennis, and and basketball facilities. It would be
I don't I was just curious where it was. I like conway personally. The clues can fit alot of parks this year. These guys at the pioneer press are loving this!!!
snow dog, don't fixate on early clues and ignore the later ones. The clues go from general to specific. well and new were almost certainly too early for Newell,
because it is a small park. Plus the later clues don't fit. Let Newell go or you will end up in a metaphorical Frog Pond.
Newell, Conway, ?====top 3
Is midway stadium public property, all of the clues would fit except the 954.
black bart--yes, I did
Amy,
The State Fair is in Falcon Hights.
I am constitutionally opposed to ever crossing off Newell. However, the number of clues that do not apply are growing (place of learning, translucent peak etc.) But
don't let me stop you, just be kind to my park.
Hillcrest is on Ford Parkway or whatever...and theres a row of trees along the road...But that might be a stretch.
hillcrest is on ford parkway and bohland and hillcrest st. across from Highland Catholic Elementary school, by St. Leo's church, and by BK
anyone think of this. 9#of baseball players 5#of basketball players 4#of doubles tennis
Midway Stadium is owned by St. Paul
Allison, I think you are on the right track with Conway. The 9, 5, 4 could also be 9 innings (baseball), 5 sets (tennis) and 4 quarters (basketball)
The State Fair is, I believe, actually in Falcon Heights. And yes I did see that stake at Newell, and wanted to believe so badly, but it just didn't seem to be it.
black bart--why do you want to know? did you?
I agree Allison. I don't buy the nine being baseball, 5 being basketball, etc...
Beth....Hillcrest is surrounded by Ford parkway, Bohland and Kenneth streets....why do you think it is there?
to anyone using the www.friendsoftheparks webpage to search parks... is their server down for you too??? this just happened today i think
I'm with Amy Anderson, and I'm sorry I'm not adding anything worth a sh**.
So none of you think the KS95 or hwy 94 could be the 9,5,4 ? Or how about 9 for baseball, 5 for hockey or basketball, 4 for tennis doubles...whatcha think? :)
Hillcrest is on 1978 Ford Parkway (IE Ford Plant). In highland park. East of Cretin and West of Snelling.

Why is everyone beginning to sway away from Newell?
Hey, everyone, would someone please tell me how a golf course fits into Newell,Conway or any of these smaller parks?
freshman...I figured you had to have been from that area. Yes, I went there many years ago....

Black Bart...what year did you graduate?
Why would a golf course be needed with a park?
I don't think the golf course part of the clue is relevant at all. They just worked the standard warning to stay away from golf courses into the first clue.
not much longer until #9!!!! Is anyone else really excited?
where else? anyone go to linwood
I'm telling you...On the some score boards...they have 9 innings, 5 circles for the ball/strike count, and 4 bases showing on what bases the players are on.

has it ever been on a golf course?
freshman......I'm a GEEZER...prior to your birth....I believe it was about 76...*smile*
the garage logic think tank may have to tailgate in the midway stadium parking lot
what about linwood
BARTON--hiya, how's your searching been out there. Ithink its just a few of us still holding out for HP. Havent seen many other diggers out there yet. All clues still
point there though...
It wouldn't be on a golf course, they wouldn't want them wrecked.
This is the Superstar! Think I ain't? I have to disagree with the 4,5,9 theory because 98% of the parks have baseball, tennis, and and basketball facilities. It would be
a big stretch!
MushieW - I've been on teh KS95 link fo rmany days, until today's round and white clue. Now I dunno
many a tome , what author are they talking about, pierce butler
freshman.....It is never hidden on a golf course....too much damage!
I don't I was just curious where it was. I like conway personally. The clues can fit alot of parks this year. These guys at the pioneer press are loving this!!!
black bart...Oh, yeah, that was before I was born. lol I thought maybe we graduated together or something...silly me!
isn't hillcrest a little small? Doesn't seem like a good hiding place
I dont see how all clues fit HP...I've been there today..I didn't see anything to go with the translucent peak...
I just looked out the window, not a soul at linwod
hmmm... 9 and a five and somewhere a four,,, four is "midway" what do ya think??
snow dog, don't fixate on early clues and ignore the later ones. The clues go from general to specific. well and new were almost certainly too early for Newell,

It will NEVER be on a golf course
The Infamous Winnie Bago, is Ashlee :)
Yeah..HIllcrest is small, and not many people have searched there though. But for some reason I like that park.
