1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

If they do hide it in October some kid probably found a baseball or softball and brought it home.If that's what it is in.

Common - Think I haven't! Have you been reading these ideas people have? Obviously, pioneerplanet takes the smart, the stupid, the rich, the poor, blah blah blah.

Hopefully I can find this medallion and you can slap me on the back.

they dont hide it until days before the hunt begins... they know where they will hide it well in advance though... it takes a while to write clues that make 25% of Mn

insane

Yes LJ. I'm going to disagree though. I know of a single glowing translucent peak that isn't Sunray Center.

I am still having problems with Conway not being a bonafide park, and what is the covered quarry? No one seems to be discussing that

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Barton Fink

hey brian s... i think we may be on the same path... is the peak from a church nearby???

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink

the first definition of quarry is a diamond shaped pane of glass

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
DaBrewMan

quarry = thing of pursuit it is covered with something

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink

A quarry is something being hunted, and covered- well that's obvious.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Terry

Hello! Back from Conway! It has to be there. Everything fits without stretching any clues to fit. The deal is there is lots of snow left to move. I think this could go

down to the wire.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Regalman

I'd put my life on Conway

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink

Terry, good to see a serious person in this thing.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Superstar

Reagalman - you must be speaking from experience because I've heard you frequently have a big pain in your ass! Your mom sure knows how that feels! Think she

doesn't?

Alot of these clues point to the Capital Mall. Is that considered a park??

I was also wondering if there is a St Francis Park anywhere in St Paul

If so, where is it????

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Regalman

Terry what is the 954 at Conway??

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
caver

well, I was thinking some of the numbers match, the library is there, as is the "score" for an orchestra performance. You may be able to see the red first bank tower

neon. I have not been there, but is that not where the ice sculptures are? Talk about translucent stuff, there would be lots of ice. Then, maybe you can see Galtier

Plaza, and doesn't that have the windows way up high? That could fit the translucent peak. Besides, who would think Rice park, right in the middle of everything? I

dunno, it was just a thought before I read anything about conway.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 12:00 AM Permalink
Terry

Regalman - I best be serious about this. This is the 29th year we've been hunting.

Whoever it was that pointed out that orient meant east - good thinking! I hadn't thought of that.
