Gordy wants to go to the army surplus store and pick him up a t-shirt, we'll get a pen and put cooler crew 2005 - wish you were here- and have everyone sign a little message on it. He's Army right??
Oh I'm not gonna argue that because I could care less really. But the beans that Starbucks uses for their coffee are superior (aribica) to the (robusta) beans that are much more common, which I am pretty sure Caribou still uses. Some coffee wusses don't like Starbucks because it's 'too strong', but coffee enthusiants will almost always agree that starbucks has better coffee.
PS... I was harrassed all the time by some of my favorite customers, and I dealt it back to them on a dailly basis, it was fun!
Haha I worked in a starbucks within a grocery store, so it was a small booth and the customer was literally standing right next to me when I was making their drink, so there was no extra flavors being added.
Great ideas!! Once again, the crew pulls together to do what needs to be done! Re: the button design -- they aren't made up yet! I've had it pretty much ready, but I've been putting off getting the thing sized right. I have the template from the button place around here somewhere, but like every other year....I'll have to call tomorrow and get it faxed to me. I *think* I can work a ribbon onto it.....not exactly a graphic arts genius here! ESD (or anyone else) -- want to draw one up for me so I can more or less copy and paste?Â
I will try to put my thinking cap on for some other ideas of supplies/stuff to send. You guys are great though! They are going to love the MN touches, and the pictures of him as a cut out! My brain is pretty much mush from lack of sleep, sick kids, and long crazy work days.
I'll post this again to see if maybe someone can give me a little insight
Â
I had a ton to slog through so I think I missed the beginning of how this all got started, can someone give me the cliff notes version of what all is going on here, where did Zeph come from?
Basically the crew as a whole decided to do something for our newest member Zeph. He's a hunt fanatic like the rest of us but is currently surving in IRAQ. We are trying to get together as much stuff for him and some of his unit as we can by the PDG and then send it to them.
AS for the cut out of him and such, we are trying to let him know he will be hunting with us in spirit.
That's awesome, my best friends' brother is in Iraq right now too, I've had a chance to talk with him through his brother a few times and am pretty close with his family so I stay up to date on everything he's been doing. He's a marine in the first division meaning he's the first of the first lines and has been since he's been there, he's been through a lot and I have some stories if anyone is interested.
And believe me that anythingyou send them will make them happier than you can imagine. I just got word that Dan (My friends' brother) just got access to a dvd player so I'm going to try and send him something for that.
Bravo to everyone pitching in, it's really a great thing you are doing, and anything you get out of it is magnified ten times over by the person receiving it.
The chances of the mail going to Zeph will most likely not be inspected. But in case it is..... We have to try and keep these basic rules in mind when we shop for him and his fellow soldiers.

Yes, he's an E-5 Sergeant. He's a generator mechanic for a signal unit.
Oh no, you're gonna get him that crap from Caribou aren't you?
Sorry to break it to you, but Caribou is better.
And the employees there are cool. You can harrass them all you want.

I have my own Boulevard on the map at Grand and Oxford. Thats because I'm special.
I kinda figure these packages will be shared with the people most close to him. He said he has 14 people in his section.
11 men and 3 women.
Sorry to break it to you, but Caribou is better.

I like strong coffee, and Starbucks tastes like monkey butt.

Just admit you are a girl when it comes to drinking coffee THX. Admit it, admit it.

I'm a girl when it comes to a lot of things, but that's our secret, right Timmers?
Het Timmers, no guy who admits to have tasted monkey butt is a girl.
What exactly does Monkey butttaste like THX?
I do like Starbucks Frappachino thingys. They're ok.
Ok.. I need to get ready for work and stuff. I'll talk to you guys later.
This conversation is walking a fine line of acceptability.

I had a really nasty response, but I'm stopping this right now.
According to the Minneapolis Star, Consumer Reports rated Caribou #1 followed by Eight O'Clock and then Dunkin' Donuts. Starbucks came in 11th.
