For the first time ever, thosewho write the clues that send Treasure Hunters digging through the snow each winter will briefly lift the veil of secrecy to discuss general questions about recent hunts.
Theywill do so without identifying themselves,or commenting about any aspect of this year's hunt.
The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt "Ask A Clue Writer" promotion gives hunt enthusiasts an unprecedented opportunity to gain new insights into the hunt," says Pioneer Press marketing director Lori Swanson. The discussion will be limited to Treasure Hunts held in recent years.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 19, and continuing through noon on Friday, Jan. 21, Treasure Hunters may submit questions online on TwinCities.com or send them via e-mail to cluewriter@pioneerpress.com.
The clue writers'answers to selected questions will be posted on Sunday, Jan. 23, at 9 a.m.
"The writersand theirwork have been the subject of intense speculation among Treasure Hunt enthusiasts," Swanson says. "We hope Treasure Hunters will have fun learning a little more about past clues and hiding places, as well as the lore and lure of the hunt."

I tryed to listen online real quick but the stream didn't get real consistent until it was over. All I heard was Jake talk about hunters not like Como, and he said something about Joe reading the clues. Was there anything else worth knowing about?
He said he called to apologize for calling Joe the cluewriting. Joe denied in his usual way. Jake tried to engage Joe with babble about Como, cluewriting, and a few other things and Joe lost interest.

I think Jake is the guy he's referring to who keeps calling him to say he's the cluewriter.
That was my first thought too.
New tagline from Joe: In the end, though, it is often a guy who picks up the last clue, drives to the location and then trips over the loot.
I also liked: What a weird fight this is. I don't even know who I am arguing with.
I was really amazed at how often he writes the same story over and over and over....
Just about every year he writes about his glasses.
Also....didn't I just show everybody a clip of his from years ago....about the pro's with gps, maps, grids, etc....yep...the pro's are out!!!

Do you think they would want the old writers knowing who the new writers are? I mean after a while someone might slip lol

Worried? I'm not worried. Just playing the Devil's Advocate. The voice sounded too deep to me, but what the heck do I know.

At the end he said he didn't think Joe wrote the clues any longer. And he put in a plug for the decumentary.
