Do all of these parks have ample PARKING.. that is our best clue....this is a FAMILY THING right..kids,etc.??? MUST BE PARKING NEARBY....me thinks..what thinkest the hare?
I think people are underestimating the amount of parking at Crosby. There are a few lots that can hold a decent number of cars. At least a Clue 8 crowd I would think. Beyond that we'd see people parking on the road and all the way up the driveway. It might be a bit of a walk, but you could definitely get as many cars in there as you had at say Conway. So I wouldn't rule out Crosby for that. There are other elements of Crosby that make me wonder if they would really hide it there though. But you know, after last year, I probably shouldn't be surprised. My last doubt about Crosby is the ability to actually find enough things about the park to write 12 clues about. Then again, we have had 2 references to water already.
Van Morrison Autumn Song Written by - Van Morrison From - Hard Nose the Highway
Leaves of brown they fall to the ground And it's here, over there leaves around Shut the door, dim the lights and relax What is more, your desire or the facts
Pitter patter the rain falling down Little glamor sun coming round Take a walk when autumn comes to town
Little stroll past the house on the hill Some more coal on the fire will do well And in a week or two it'll be Halloween Set the page and the stage for the scene
Little game the children will play And as we watch them
while time away
Look at me and take my breath away yeah
You'll be smiling eyes beguiling And the song on the breeze Will call my name out and your dream
Chestnuts roasting outside as you walk With your love by your side The old accordion man plays mellow and bright And you go home in the crispness of the night
Little later friends will be along And if you feel like joining the throng Just might feel like singing Autumn song Just may feel like singing Autumn song
You'll be smiling Eyes beguiling And the song on the breeze Calls my name out in your dream
Chestnuts roasting outside As you walk with your love by your side And the old accordion plays mellow and bright And you go home in the crispness of the night
I cant say much about Crosby, since its been a buncha years since Ive been there, and havent been able to check it out thus far... but just from my perspective, when I first read the "not so white christmas" line, my thought was that it's NOTÂ there...
for right now I think its somewhere around the mississippi. I originally thought mound, just because i thought cliff, and the river is right below but who knows. The Bing Crosby thing also had me, crosby was the first thing I thought when i saw white christmas. Thats my thoughts for now
Well enough noodling for one evening. Sadly I won't have time to noodle tomorrow, but on the plus side, I'll be on a ride along with one of the drivers from my company, and the route we're taking is mainly through St Paul and ramsey county... perhaps I'll see something that makes sense...
Thanks 3M - Nice seeing you and everybody else tonight. Congrats on having the Clue 3 bottle cracking honor. ;-) Who will it be for clue 4? Should we start another thread? Naw, it confuses OT too much.
As far as tonight's clue, all I can think is that it's one of the 8 parks along that stretch of the Ol Man.
And thanks for the Underdog reference guys. I loved that show.

I'm really interested why they singled out waters edge & cliffs. They've never mentioned them really before- nor have they talked about safety. I'm going with my "it's in BETWEEN the cliffs & water" theory until the clue tells me it's in cono again.

I'm still leaning more towards Mounds, Battle Creek, or Hidden Falls now. Mostly because I don't want it to be at Crosby.
I know the trains near Battle Creek sometimes make these awful, almost scary noises. But I don't think that really makes sense with the last line.
daos, magparaos- (to while time away, to finish) - to have orgasm
And who says people aren't fun at 3am

Hmm, wish I'd found some of this mapping software before the hunt. Should make for some very nice maps for next year.
Dunno... but If im correct, isnt there a "Victory" parking ramp around there someplace?Â
No victory parks are showing up in my list... perhaps a park on victoria street?
What about other PP locations.... paper shipping spots.
There's the big PP building out by holman field.. no idea how that'd fit in though.
Theres one right across from my work too. But again.. no clue how that could possibly fit.
[Edited by on Jan 25, 2005 at 01:19am.]
lol look in a park.. perhaps they intentionally left out "ing lot"
Holman Field had "Speedy" though not Scoot

Morning Sam
maybe I should try a couple more hours of sleep.
Maybe...
But then I don't know what sleep is.
Sleep is where you spend time at your computer and figure out clue meanings, and then take a shovel into a park.
