What equipment works the best for hunting? I am thinking just a regular shovel, since I need one for my place any how. Any other equipment that I should be getting (ex. compass, mase, hunting dogs)
That all depends. It's mostly personal preference. When you hunt. What kind of snow....
OK, so I've been looking at the clues for the last two years. ALL of them stick to the same rhyme scheme. ALSO, in both of the last two years the park was named in the 3rd clue. As Soucheray would say, "Here's today's ray of hope!"
To sum up, I think it very possible the park is named in this clue, and I think it highly probable that the word "pursuit" and the phrase "before we moved in" are important and perhaps connected.
OK ... you guys want some nice morning fun humor ... I just updated the website! Take specific look at Jake obviously as we add s__t to his all the time and then even more comical Don Jr. profile !!!
I just noticed, in clue #2 it says "while time away", not "while THE time away". Don't know what that's worth, but it now suggests something like a large clock nearby, or something.
Battle Creek... Battle 'cry' in the pursuit of going after the enemy? But don't be afraid of hearing it... BUT... it's not something that was there - a battle cry.
Yes, the natives. But they're a they, not an it.
IT was there before WE (us, today) MOVED in. What's an it, that could still be there that makes noise?
Can't get that.
But the first two lines definately point to BC. Stay away from the cliffs and the river; hunting pursuit is, well hunting pursuit: the battle and hunting parties, etc.
Has anyone noticed that the writer/writers are referring to themselves as we this year! This is different than previos years. So for clue 3 Who is "we" moved in?
*I* think that that you hear and was there before *they* moved in is Battle Creek. It's east of the cliffs and water's edge; you're moving away from the cliffs and water's edge.
The parkis in Dakota County, but it is managed by St. Paulunder a regional parksagreement that calls the area "Lilydale Harriet Island Cherokee Regional Park," although almost everyone refers to its three parts as if they were separate.
Â
OH GOD!!!! WHAT IS IT?? my guess...per the rules...its outta the county!!!!!
And what if... "Hunting pursuit it was there before we moved in."? HUH????
BC's [Mounds] the one that had the "take your honey for a ride" places. That's where they used to dump poop over the cliffs in from the honey wagons - the wagons that cleaned out the outhouses. The stuff was also called "night dirt."
Stal, you give up too easy! And you're chicken I'm actually RIGHT this year.
But doesn't the phrase usually go "while away the time" and not "while time away"? I'm trying to figure whether or not it is significant that they left out "the".
tell me, blowhard, how many times have youfound the medallion? hmmm?
Heh

Rakes, all types of shovels, small hand tools sometimes hockey sticks. Head Lamps and lanterns are something to consider if you plan to dig at night.
DON'T DIG IN JEANS!
Well, Stal, those folks been a sleepin' in Mounds way a long time for the neighbors ever moved in...

well, at least not someone else's jeans anyway. ;)
As I was saying before about the skating references, ice, figures, etc. Heres an article from the PP:Â http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/special_packages/winter_carnival/10665781.htm
isnt there a big clock on the Landmark center?
Â
Not a good idea to make snow angels in jeans either. You end up with a wet butt.
I don't get it green, . . . who's been sleeping there?
Wet butts mean cold butts.
Not good out there in the park.

Has anyone noticed that the writer/writers are referring to themselves as we this year! This is different than previos years. So for clue 3 Who is "we" moved in?
Stallion- Your noodle was my SCD. The non-rhyming really bothered me too. I was thinking "it" would be a word that rhymed with pursuit: http://www.rhymezone.com/r/rhyme.cgi?Word=pursuit&typeofrhyme=perfect&org1=syl&org2=l
*I* think that that you hear and was there before *they* moved in is Battle Creek. It's east of the cliffs and water's edge; you're moving away from the cliffs and water's edge.
Back to the MTC signs...
OMG!!!! I forgott THX! I'm SORRY!
I do want to THANK YOU too!
THANK YOU THX!
Green do you have a link for BC history?
It was there before we moved in? Do you think that means before it was a park, or before the meaning of the name of the park?
Oh, this is driving me crazy. Nothing makes sense, nothing is clear, the center cannot hold and the world is falling apart!!!
Maybe I need to take a break here and go shower.
Don't get to excited...
noodle at Buggs ... they open in a 1/2 hour!!!
or something big in the area.. like MOA.. or something like that. something big that moved in nearby.
I use a spork for digging. It will have historical value when I find the coin.
It's a full moon- and all the freaky people are supercharged!

And what if... "Hunting pursuit it was there before we moved in."? HUH????

Gotta go find Charlie...
Kitch your hoe or ho ???

Nobody, and I mean nobody calls me yellow.
I'll just leave that as that...
As long as they don't call you 'green.'
I'VE GOT IT!!!!
Know what we hear? THE VILLAGE PEOPLE!!!
THAT'S IT!!! The village was there before we moved in!
"Ittiz fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A"!!!
Ares, please delete me and I will re-register.
Thx
i'm not going to be able to contribute much this year....
I'm going to leave the "googling" up to you guys....unless i see where I have an edge....
but I'm going to be looking at a lot of old newspaper articles....
today i've alrdy scanned over a ton of Karl's articles on parks....nothing yet....
My wife likes to shop and I don't but when I do get forced into going to a Mall with her while she shops I "while away time" by sitting on a bench!
clue #1 mentions it being inedible, they have had edible items in langford and tony schmidt parks, any thoughts?
But doesn't the phrase usually go "while away the time" and not "while time away"? I'm trying to figure whether or not it is significant that they left out "the".
