me 2: what would have been there before them at Central?

Well the railroad is there - and they used to use the ice from the lake for the old fashioned Ice Boxes. They had lots of 'industry' loading points along that rail line.

Perhaps you heard the blow of the trains? I don't recall that being still an active line - I know the one that runs parallel with Rice St. is.

It was all flat farm land - no cliffs etc.

Hey Ian -

I think you said you had a couple of Cache's up at Central right?  Do you (or anyone else) recall anything up there that has a clock - or a time reference?

That clock that blew down in the storm in 2004 - was that near a park?

Nice!  I was thinking about anagraming just the while time away part.

what about wood?  is there any wood 'whittled' statues around - like someone was whittling the while time away?

lilslim - will you PLEASE email me a larger version of your F-winter avatar?  My mom would absoulutely LOVE it - I'd like to print it out for her - growing up there (in the cold) she refuses to return unless the weather is at least 80.  You can send it to

Love4Vino@yahoo.com

I'd sooo appreciate it.  Tx.

They mention cliffs and water's edge, so I think the park has those things and we are supposed to stay away from them. What parks have cliffs?

Remember, the cluewriter said they always throw out red herrings. I think the reference to Crosby in the second clue is a red herring. I don't think they'd give the park name away so early.

Anyone think there's an anogram in the last two lines of clue three?

Look at clue twolast year with the word "token"which meant arcade streetinto Phalen park.  They even said so in the explanation.  Look at the clues for 93, They mentioned itasca street in clue 1 when it was at Hidden Falls.  The park is so big they can give it away early.

I think if it's in a big park, they may allude to it early. Otherwise, they're chasing us around like geesess

They always tell us early when it is in a big park, the worst thing to do is second guess ourselves

Wasn't Bing Crosby's nickname "Old Cumgedrum" (spelling) and then that white chrismas reference. Although on a map, Crosby seems small, only 6 miles. it does have those two lakes, and the meeting of Mn and Miss rivers....

Crosby/Hidden falls park 736 Acres roughly 300 acres bigger than como.

It has never been at Crosby; at HF once in the '80's or 90's

queenmalley

There is some kind of Greening effort at Crosby in reintroducing some kind of wildlife, may hinder cule makers hidding it there??

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 10:47 AM Permalink
Brassmonkey

Its not at crosby its at HF.  The white christmas just brings us to Crosby/HF Area when it really is in the HF side of that regional park.  Just like always.  Also it was hidden at HF in 93 and 54

Does anyone think - they could of "stuck" it in a "stick up" airfreshener?

That would be a heck of a hiding spot and being it's sticky - attached just about anywhere ?

I agree stallion about the rhyming scheme getting messed up and it is really getting to me.

Possible explanations...

Souch is trying to mess with us and wants to see the reaction.

There is a new 2nd writer (KK retired), and they took turns writing the clues, he just isn't as committed to the rhyme scheme as some cluewriters were/are.

OR... it really means something.

Just can't figure out what.

Ok, I'll weigh in and you can all laugh at me:

What about mears park?  It's got that fake river running through it and the big clock that Marley hid his medallion under.
