well, once-blue- make's me think of swimming pool concrete, or a pond that was clean enough for swimming, but is now polluted/algae filled

I agree with you somewhat - they all reference british bs somehow but only warwick would match up with the kings reference....

THX does maureen hursey(a fomer med finder) and reg poster have invit status??

I really think it is at Crosby, but I respect maureen a lot( she did find it for crying out loud) so I tried the clues for Acorn

#1 so scoot - scoot is a brand name of disc for disc golf there is a disc course there, and ACORN is a park

#2 not very white christmas not Crosby, there are paths and a frozen pond; could be in a ice breakers box

#3 no cliff and no waters edge warning us Crosby is a false lead.

#4 acorn park is "tween "general" Bennett lake and "general" Gervais both were field generals.  there is an old pond which is not blue at all mostly scummy

I don't know how the wht's that you hear, fear, it was ther befor we move in works...

I still think it is in Crosby but worth keeping track of acorn

I'am thinking of a bigger park, which is close.  Como and HF I'm still unsure of.

Finally done slogging (again). Should be a slower day in here with everybody out diggin. Too bad I'm at work, but at this point in the game, I'm okay with it, the park is big, and theres tons of area to search, with no indication of where in the park to concentrate on. If it's not a 12 clue hunt, it should at least go to the weekend.

My only hang-up is the "field generals" clue. I can't seem to fit that one to Acorn. The rest of them fit

and like aw says, the simplest explanation for something is usually the correct one. in other words, for a horrible paraphrase, if the clue don't fit, you must acquit.

not a bad way of thinkin ESD. The cluewriters have expressed they like to mislead people. Perhaps Crosby is a red herring, it'll be easier to tell in a couple more clues.

okay here is the acorn connection to "it was there before we moved in" it was in acorn park in 81 before the currant clue writer moved in??

I haven't had a chance to read all the threads but it seems like most CC are thinking Crosby?  Following clue #3 yesterday after work, I was at Highland for a while....near the pool, police station/flag/circus-place.  I thought the clues fit enough to check it out.  Be safe...police station?  Pledge...flag by poice station?  What's that you hear?..siren?  Also, if "not very white" meant green,  that circus place at Highland is green and is in the same vicinity and visible from the stuff I mentioned above.  Anyone hunting today?  I am off at 2:30!  Could meet somewhere.

You rock Man!!

I like it!

HF - Sumner near there - Major-General E. V. Sumner belonged to one of the oldest families in Massachusetts ...blah blah blah

crosby - WHEELER - General Joseph Wheeler was born on September 10, 1836 in Augusta, Georgia. blah blah blah

There's plenty of cracks and holes to look in around there that would be perfect for hiding a medallion.

i am nottouching anycrack or hole i come across in crosby.

evildoer, i think that's more than just a theorem.

Just wondering what the 5th clue will say. What seems clear and concise today can be gibberish tomorrow... I'll go with the hive mind on it being at Crosby, but I like to keep my options open in case of a curveball.

Nelson A. Miles was a general in the Sioux Outbreak.

That puts Longfellow right between two generals.

Otay!  Otay!  But folks said they were kind'a leery o'going with Crosby...  Sos I just thought I keep tossing stuff out.

If Crosby is the park, in a sense you would think this clue is narrowing down the search area somewhat.  The treasure is down beyond the once blue pond.  If you're up top along the cliffs, the treasure would be down the hill.  You'd just have to go beyond the pond.  So search on the side of the pond closest to the river.  You could also look at it from the perspective of taking the most popular route.  Going down the watergate marina entrance, you would go down the hill.  Then just search beyond the pond.  If you can figure out the correct pond, then you should be able to cut your search area in half.

Give Er A Throw

I'm just worried that the clue writer is just sending us to Crosby and its somewhere else. The only thing that sucks though, is that everything matches Crosby very well. And the last clue is pretty cryptic but, fits Crosby very well, with Homer been between Gannon and Elway, also about the sirens calling and the Giant falling, aka the Cyclops. The once blue pond could be a reference to the lake freezing over.

OT LOL!!!! I've been ignoring my dog (err- wolf), and she jumped the fence and was roaming the neighborhood. NOT good! She weighs about 95 pounds, and stands almost 3 feet at the shoulder. I guess she wanted to chase rabbits.

LL Man! that bites! If you lived near me, I'd run a hose into your house :)

Oyster- you meanie! I've been on 89.3 for a day, and already have a long list of music I need to buy. I don't have room for more- I guess I'll have to go to Home Depot and build another rack :P
