I wonder if they would put it back in Phalen again??? (But the ice has come to stay) Maybe its becuz they arent taking ice out of Phalen this year for anything:)
it's hard to say, people searched a good bit of time at phalen last year to not have it show up before the end (not counting the fact it wasn't where it was supposed to be). That park is huge, and I haven't seen much in the clues to narrow the location down, unless that changes in the next few clues...
n "The Ponds," Thoreau shares the knowledge and lore which he has acquired about Walden and the other nearby lakes. Much of this chapter is nostalgic, looking backwards from a later period of time to when he lived beside Walden and, even more, looking backwardsto when he was a boy first visiting and exploring the pond. The historicaltales look
back further still.
...
Beyondquestion, Thoreau loved Walden Pondmore than any other ...and the ice-menhave skimmed it once, it is ...years ago; where a forest was cut downlast winter ...
It was way cooler enjoying the nice winter weather out in the park with you guys tonight. It was also cooler seeing some new faces wondering around with the crew through the woods. Even if we did loose a few to the Blair Witch.Â
Me2, 3M Clucks and I closed down the park as far as the CC is concerned. But there were around 10 people still out there when we left at about 2:30. I'm sure more of you CC members will be out there with us tomorrow. It was pretty good time.
Damn... after we got the clue, me and cocorosie, went and just basically found every map that we could come accross of Crosby and nearby streets and what not..... if we woulda known all you people were out there, we probably would have been down too....
Im liking that place, now that Ive got info and stuff straight on it.....
Crosby Farm Nature Area preserves a natural flood plain area of the Mississippi River. During floods, fish and other aquatic animals gain access to the Upper Crosby Lake, Lower Crosby Lake, and all the pondsscattered throughout Crosby's forest
Last year I had it at Phalen at Clue 4, but there was HARDLY a consensus that it was Phalen. In fact, I don't think that there was a majority, even on here, on Phalen until Clue 9 or 10, and by then half the city of St. Paul was out there.
Has anyone thought about Acorn Park in Roseville? If I'm not mistaken, "Scooter" is a brand of frisbee golf discs. Also, Axel Rose sang a White Christmas song. I think Crosby might be a Red Herring. Remember when everyone tore up Harriet Island a couple years ago?
FYI: It was sooo much fun last night but the energy output was high. There are something like 6.7 miles of trails to walk down there! It IS a forest. I didn't feel the after effects of the shnapps thismorning, however I did feel the effects of that long walk!
small children and older people WILL have a difficult walk ahead of them.
Another Crosby noodle - Please, have no fear(Clue #3): the seasonal Tunnel of Terror is in the park, or at least very close to the park border. Most of these tunnels were caves before they were enlarged by "we" - It was there before we moved in.
luckily I've done them all. If it gets busy out there, all those caches are likely in danger.
what r u thinking, crosby
Well while looking for the medallion maybe I can get the rest of them.

160 acres - not gonna be easy
Okay enough of this for one evening. Even if it's there, I doubt someone will find it terribly soon, unless they're exceptionally lucky.

Or bring more kids socks ;)
We did have a blast! It sometimes gets worse!

I almost wanna go back out there.
Once blue Pond / Puck??
Was anyone else out there? Was the gate closed?
There wasn't a consensus on Phalen until later. I think you'll see Clue 7 crowds out there tomorrow and it will grow from there.
the gate was closed
So how far away did you guys have to park? I suspect this will be the last night it will be closed.
yes we were out there. the gate is closed at the marina. you can still park and walk in.
ok
mom me2 ,night all. I need sleep.I'm starting to doze off here also. Might as well get some sleep while I'm all caught up.

But why? Thats actually where it is.
That's where I'm headed, then the fairgrounds.
But wait.... Clue #1 mentions a critter, and then this last one talks about a "pond"...
It can only mean one thing!!! its FINALLY in the Frog Pond!!!!!
Bingo
After Pay Me gets home around noon today I'm going to take my youngest over there and poke around.
If anyone needs/wants my cell egram me and I'll give it to you.
Morning crew!!
Â
Might be even earlier. Shes not feeling well today. So after I get my oldest on the bus I'll probably be off.
aonce blue pond..a swimming pool?? a cement pond??
"'Tween" is also a young child ages 9 to 12, any youth stuff by the park, but not playground equip,?
Poet = HOMER ST
Field Generals = Rich GANNON RD & John ELWAY ST
CLUE: "Tween field generals and Poet sings"
Is it possible that the medallion can be found "Tween the field generals" and using Homer Street as a directional point into Crosby Park "poet sings".
The medallion "neither cliff nor waters edge" away from the steep hills and away from the river.
Crosby Lake is the frozen water that was once blue in the summer, but currently is white.
Just a thought! Â
