Yes, starts at 10:30 and ends about 2:30 or when the last person crosses. But they close the road some undetermined time before the race. I Googled Frozen 5K St. Paul and found it.Â
So I was on my way home from noodling the clue at the rockin lobster and one of my buddies calls me up and asks where I am and I tell him, then he tells me he's going medallion hunting. I ask what park he's at and he had to ask someone off the phone but came back and said crosby and I told him good job bud! Then he tells me he's with John Davoli's (spell?) daughter, the 2000 finder so I told him the story about him going home and leaving his wife in the cold and whatnot and she thought it was pretty funny. Anywho, it's a small world out there.
The ground was icy after the New Year's Day ice storm. That doesn't mess me up as much as taking a path into the woods to find yarrow which grows in the sun.
Folks I got this chatroom so if anyone wants to chat rather than post we can. It will not be passworded so that we can all enjoy it. Please use your same name each time so that everyone knows who you are. Good Luck Everyone, and enjoy.
Not at all Splitrockspirit. Didn't think you were aware of it. There is no such thing as toes in the cooler. The more resources we have the better for all of us.
Besides... if you step on toes it just helps keep them warm in Ma Presses line :)
done sloggin here too now... interesting clue. Anyone think the cluewriter is directly attacking the 12th clue mess at phalen last year? I mean considering the medallion ended up at the top of the ridge, basically out in the open with no covering save some snow... isn't it a little odd that this year it's hidden in such a way?
I think this writer is taking us down the path, in and out of the woods from the shelter. First we were given the park. Now we're on the narrowing it down parts with a "map" to lead us to the prize if we figure it all out correctly.
hehe, when it comes to clues, second guess everything, I think we're beginning to see clues coming out now that not only mislead, and sometimes intentionally, but are outright deceptive. I like the fact the cluewriter is confident enough to say the puck is out in the open on some snow
I had the same question, OTS. Why Ice?
Outta
The hyphens stand out to me.
Might be something about that line. I need to mess with the words a bit.
The race goes down Jackson to Shepard Rd to East Mississippi River Road and it is tomorrow

snow and ice covered = RACCOONS VIEWED END!
When they planned the event no one did it with any thought of the medallion being there. No one would have any way of knowing.

Now stop talking for a minute so I can leave gracefully. ;) Night!

A hockey puck generally rests on the ice. Could be nothing more than that.

I think this writer is messing with our heads.
I like it though. Even if it is in Crosby...... I like that we are second guessing ourselves.

.....Peter Yarrow is best known as one-third of the '60s folk group Peter, Paul and Mary. ......more folk music? and now movies?

And even though I'm worried :)... I'll be right there with the rest of the crew tossing snow after the clue comes out Sat night.
I believe the clue writer is expecting us to expect the red herring - and there won't be one....which is working to get folks to doubt the obvious.
Bravo to the clue writer.
I love it!
hahaa.. check out the map where yarrow grows.. hmm. that narrows it down. have we ruled out texas?
