also, it sounds like the clue is saying we're all in the wrong place. only a wildflower could love where we're searching-- and that we're missing the mark completely. do they write reactionary clues like that?
It seems like the writers are purposely leading us to the wrong park. Especially the wording of tonihts clue. It says only a yarrow would like the place you found. Not the plae where the treasure is. Then it goes on to say the puck is lonely and forsaked (what is forsaked anyway?)
my biggest worry is if it is out in the open, in an area already searched, it could have gotten moved hundreds of yards from the intended area... and if everyone's in the right park, trampling every open space, even the 12th clue may not save this one...
I remember reading once some years ago, that almost always, the medallion gets moved from it's original hiding spot. It's always been found though. I would think that this year will be no different.
lol not many open areas will be tomorrow I'm guessin. I'm off too, see ya in the park tomorrow. Guessin this one may make it to Tuesday even considering.
And yes, the medallion will be found, just depends on if it was the originally placed one, or the one dropped on the morning of the 12th clue ;)
ShovelMaster - ( PFID:3eb4f353) - 08:29pm Jan 28, 2005 PST (# 6060 of 6182) Kaw, what do you think?
I have solid believe that the new medallion will be something like a door hinge or shaped like at least....there are strong things pointing to that. What do you think?
Ian, that post about the hinges.....ya just gotta wonder.
Emily (my oldest) wanted to go out so badly tonight. I came home not feeling too well, and after slogging round 1, laid down for a little better than an hour. She kept asking if I was feeling better -- are we going to go out....
Couldn't bring myself (or us) to go downtown, so we waited for the clue online, and after mulling it over she said she really wanted to go to Crosby. So we got all suited up and headed out. Parking was beginning to get tight, but there were some spots. Pulled in, turned around and she was slumped over - asleep.Â
Got her to wake up a little and asked if she wanted to move some snow....she says "yes - but maybe in the daylight". Grrrrr!
Did find a nice spot with some prairie grasses....some yarrow-ish stuff sticking out of the snow.
I ALSO :::::a little sheepish:::::FOUND MY CAMERA!  It was here in the house the whole time! Looking at the last couple shots on it, I took a couple of Emily after we got back from the PDG...then I *hid* it before I hit the bed. Evidently, I hid it a little too well after having a couple too many!!! I swear, I've torn up this whole house looking....and here tonight it was almost right out in the open.
If only I could be that lucky finding the medallion!
I've been up for just about 22 hours now, except for my little nap. I have to take a cat in to the vet in the morning, after that it's anybody's guess. I'd like to take her to see No Time For Cold Feet, too. Will just have to see what the day brings.
I'm headed for bed (finally). Goodnight and SCD's!
I lost my Maglite at Crosby tonite by the fire pit shelter. Please Email me at ZKarlo@aol.comif you have it please. Its a 3-D Battery style and is black. If you have found one, I think I even remember a part of the serial number.

Zephs mom requests access to both this thread and the super secret thread.
OTS - You might be better off egramming him. He doesn't always slog everything here.Â
what do you make of "the place you found"? why "you"? why "found," and not "will find"?

There's a super secret thread?

There were quite a few open areas today that hadn't been touched.

before this hunt gets away from us:
Everyone remember the Re-Hash Bash, our annual picnic next sunday. Check out the details in another thread.
Sat. Jan. 29th -- 12:30pm, 3pm
No Sunday showing this weekend.....
Nah,Zeph is the star.... I'm just his agent. He's not much for talking.
Chilled to the marrow only a yarrow
Could love the place you found
Lonely and forsaked, the puck rests naked
On the snow- and ice-covered ground
Chilled to the marrow only a yarrow
Could love the place you found
Does this sound like the clue writer is telling us.... Only the Yarroow plant loves the place we are at?
Mean while the puck is off somewhere else in the snow all alone?
luck will transfer into finding the medallion!

Just wondering if the clue online that states forsaked is really forsaken in the newspaper - otherwise it doesn't rhyme.
forsaked and naked rhyme
for·sa·ked and na·ked
forsaked might be a twisted word but it's not the first time thats been done.

If we use clue #5:
Don't run, helter skelter, seek out solid shelter
With room and wood to burn (warming house or indoor skating rink)
With clue #7:
A branch, a lichen, a place made for hikin',
Is where a prize is earned.
Lonely and forsaked, the puck rests naked
On the snow- and ice-covered ground
(In branches/weeds next to the building described in Clue #5)
Perhaps even encased in ice w/ all the snow & melting snow. This would be a 1st wouldn't it if it wasn't in anything or attached to anything?
1963 it was found at Louis Street and Carroll Avenue found loose in the snowby Debby, Keith and Marion Ott.
perhaps forsaked does ryme better :-)
my interpertation of forsaked was:
"for*saked" instead of "forsa*ked"
I was just wondering because sometimes the spelling online has differed from the newspaper at least for a day until it is discovered.
