1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

I think the numbers 9-5-4 only get us to the area. We have gon way beyond that. We have the corrct park. I don't think it will matter what the numbers mean...

Clues that tell an exact location come later in the clues. Just my opinion. I can hardly wait 'till tonight. I was out at 12:10 am last night, took off work today & want

this insanity to stop !! I need to sleep again ha ha.

there is only one set of translucent "peaks" in saint paul. That's at Sunray shopping center. There are LOTs of lighted steeples and translucent domes.....but they are

NOT "peaks"

Ian: yes, thank you! Eitsab, you'll find me in the picnic grounds. Technically, I don't know exactly where field #2 is. The fields by the school I expect are not park

property, but then again, it took me awhile to see where the golf course is not!

translucent peaks in St Paul.

I live close to Conway, about 3 or 4 miles away. Maybe because of my close proximity, I like Conway. The thing is though, all the clues fit, and fit very well!!!

Maybe the "9, 5,and( somewhere a) 4",refers to a combination of sorts-e.g., number of paces to walk from a certain point, points on a compass(or watch), etc. And

if we are truly being iconoclastic, what says the medallion is buried in the snow? Maybe it is above ground somewhere.

Anyone consider the area east of the state capitol yet?(My old St.Paul map lists it as "Eastern Park"). Jackson (man of fame- clue 6) St. runs into it and a few blocks

east is a street called "Lorient"(clue 9). Jesse Ventura is indeed an iconoclast and he is mixing the "old" with the "new" in his cabinet appointments. Other clues seem

to fit as well. Just a thought.

How many people have been to Conway? Is it dug up pretty good? I really don't think it's there because someone would have found it by now. The park is so small.

the desire to enjoy ones company, and the desire to find the treasure.
