It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Terry
Ruth is an exit. Real easy to find. Where are you coming from?
Someone just e-mailed me, female, about The Re-Hash Bash... And said we don't address/answer her...???
I'm surprised at that. We usually only do not address pains in the arse - we ignore them...
You did not give me what you're called by here. I'm sorry if we've missed talking to you, but if you only have posted once or twice, it may have simply been an
omission due to volume, and xcitement. We try very hard to include all happy fun people.
Please post again, say "Hi!" and let us (me) know who you are.
Stallion, got your ding-dong. We'll see you at The Re-Hash Bash... And just so you know (sounds like you're a single male) - STORE BOUGHT IZZ FINE!!!
Just got back from Conway. Not quite the teeming mass I expected at 11:30. I suppose now we've entered what we can call "The night of the crapshoot". Does
anybody honestly have an idea where it might be? I've had several but none have panned out. Also, just curious if anyone out there is still disputing Conway (foolish
johnboy - that's right. You just need to cross over the freeway and go about another block. You can park either on Wilson (the first street) or Conway (the second
one).
Night Greg! It was wonderful meeting you this weekend!
At least a couple of hundred, though I can't claim to be good at guessing such things. The parking lots were quite full for a while, but there were some empty spaces
Thank you, I feel better now. Sorry I didn't come up with a clever hunting name, like I said, been outta this for a cpl yrs. Tried to change registration, but failed. Now
you know who I am, & I'm not a pain in the arse, but I know who you mean!
Allison: I'll bet the hunt has reached what Greg called the "locust phase" now - where the sound of shovels hitting the snow sounds like a swarm of locusts! It was
*almost* there last night - but not quite! Glad you could get out there for awhile. Can you make it to the re-hash bash this Sunday at 11:30am?
Is there anything left to argue about anymore? Are all the people who were sure it was Highland or Como or somewhere else still posting, out digging at Conway, or
ugh. i was just out at conway for a good hour and a half. it's like looking for a needle in a haystack...i think i am all done with this. at least until the last clue. left
conway about 1:30 AM...or 1 AM...whatever...there were so many people! i wonder, what do these people do for employment? :) Anyways...happy hunting.
conway might be "small" but when you are actually THERE...it is not so small when you have no clue where it is!!!!
Actually I live by Como Park, and like many I was very partial to my home park until Clue #7 hit me upside the head and knocked me out of it. Too bad some
people's head's were too thick for it to affect them.
Allison: It was hoped that the re-hash bash could be in the park where the medallion is found, like last year it was at Cherokee Park on the Sunday after the hunt
ended.
But there are no facilities at Conway that can accomodate enough people. Folks are checking out some other places, and it will be prominently mentioned in this
board as soon as the place is determined.
The time will be 11:30 am, everybuddy brings something to eat for the common table, plus its a good idea to bring a plate and your own utensils, etc. Last year I
*think* Mom Press provided the coffee. Watch for more details in the next few days! Hope to see you there!
Okay you guys, I didn't mean to whine. Thanks Terry, & hello, if you're out tomorrow, I'll be the one pulling the little girl in the sled behind me, but she can work a
It will start at 11:30 a.m. - get it??? ROFLOLPMP!!!
But rite now we don't know where it will be as Conway (and you can bet that MomPress' ol'you-know-what's gonna bee in a wringer over THIS!!!) has no electric
outlets for coffee, etc.; or tables or benches, blah, blah, blah.
We're looking into using The Rec Center, but ittiz a long shot. Maybee BC??? BUT!!!! The picnic area izz in Maplewood and that does NOT feel rite...
So, stay tuned!!!
And if folks don't see/write to you... Talk a little louder, "Hay!!! I'm WRITING to you!!! Jello????" Like I said, just one or two posts can bee so quickly
overlooked!
WELCOME!!!!
Will you, in fact, be attending? I'll put your e-mail into the folder if so! And noodle what you'll bring!
I had a spot in Como that fit the first six clues very nicely and I was sure that it was there. But I couldn't figure out how to fit a trees in a line into Como. I knew it
wasn't meant to be taken literally, but for about 12 hours I didn't know what it meant. Then I thought WOOD ROW, and that led to Conway. After a visit there I
suspected strongly that was it, and after clue * and another visit, I was positive.
Everybody - When this hunt is over, and we're all going through withdrawal and you want to rehash the clues and theories with other obsessed hunters, we have a
plan. The 2nd annual rehash bash will be held on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 11:30. Please e-mail green if you can make it. The place is yet to be determined. (No picnic
The 9 5 and 4 clue is so annoying that i want to bash myself with my shovel. I get the rest now but this one bites my butt. If someone is in the know, please elaborate
so that sweet slumber finds its way toward me tonight
I also believe that in addition to it being the first time the medallion was hidden at Conway, it is also the first time it has been at a rec center. I think this will open the
possibility in subsequent years of being at other rec centers throughout St. Paul.
Personally I interpreted the valuable sign to be the street sign saying Wilson. It was valuable because it indicated pretty clearly which park it was in. But there is some
talk of the True Value sign you can see from the pathway in the middle of the park.
Richard: Are you planning to come to the 2nd annual re-hash bash this Sunday? It will be held at 11:30am, place to be determined. It was hoped to have it at
Conway, but the facilities probably won't be conducive. It would be so much fun to meet you!!!
Allison I agree with most of the things you said but I'm still not totally convinced its at Conway. One reason is that its not technically considered a park.

36 and rice, so take 94 to ruth, left on ruth, behind sunray somewhere
Must to go. Sleepy. Talk to whoever's around during lunch. Speaking of lunch, I had my first Coney Island experience at the Gopher Bar today. Much
recommended. No need to respond with equal yums or ewws. I'm Audi 5000.
Allison - Hello! How many hunters out there? Any guess as to numbers?
johnboy - that's right. You just need to cross over the freeway and go about another block. You can park either on Wilson (the first street) or Conway (the second

GREEN,
Thank you, I feel better now. Sorry I didn't come up with a clever hunting name, like I said, been outta this for a cpl yrs. Tried to change registration, but failed. Now
you know who I am, & I'm not a pain in the arse, but I know who you mean!
Oh. So. There are some buttons for this year already. *SOME* folks have them already???? Did anybuddy nab me one?
Rite.
Well, on *that* note. I'm outta here. 5:00 a.m.'s gonna bee here soon.
Allison: I'll bet the hunt has reached what Greg called the "locust phase" now - where the sound of shovels hitting the snow sounds like a swarm of locusts! It was

just pouting quietly?
Thanks Terry, you are a pal!!!!!
Thanks! Allison - do you live near there?
Lie times a bazzillion...
My schedule is pretty open, (being a single guy) so I don't see why not. What are the details?
Hi Deb! Sorry we missed saying howdy earlier.
Green - Of course I nabbed one. They are $2.00. Same as last year.
Deb... HAY!!!

Hey I am not sure where it is but I have not ruled out highland, conway, and como.
Actually I live by Como Park, and like many I was very partial to my home park until Clue #7 hit me upside the head and knocked me out of it. Too bad some
people's head's were too thick for it to affect them.
ok late commer ....
ive heard all the reasons why alot of the clues pointed too conway park but how does 10 fit in with it any new or old thoughts i might have missed ?
OH, TERRY!!! THANK YOU!!!
So Park Digger, do you need us to rule them out for you?
I live about equal distance from Newell and Como. I never did think Como, but Newell was an early favorite...and the Capitol Mall.
Conway Twitty and Tim Conway should be obvious enough, but I could elaborate if you wish.
I just got back from Conway.....its 2am right now....I would guess at least 300 people were there....it was fun talkin to everyone and being silly.
Allison: It was hoped that the re-hash bash could be in the park where the medallion is found, like last year it was at Cherokee Park on the Sunday after the hunt

Number 10 confirms conway ----> tim conaway and conway twitty. pretty simple... really
Yes Allison, I'd be interested to hear why u are ruling out Como, reason being you live close to it and I don't.
Okay you guys, I didn't mean to whine. Thanks Terry, & hello, if you're out tomorrow, I'll be the one pulling the little girl in the sled behind me, but she can work a

what kinda numbers are people seeing at conway tonight at these wee hours?
Deb...
It will start at 11:30 a.m. - get it??? ROFLOLPMP!!!

around 300 is a good estimate. I just left about 45 min ago.
Richard - son with 'rent. No curfew vio!
Med's always been found.
Eags, get him to The Re-Hash Bash!
Thank you, cousin Eagle Eye. Good luck to you too, I suppose. Remember me in your moment of prosperity. So far, it has eluded me.
The 9 5 and 4 clue is so annoying that i want to bash myself with my shovel. I get the rest now but this one bites my butt. If someone is in the know, please elaborate

Ter, does Greg know that neat tid-bit? You may want to let him know about the xtra clue that nebber got published, if you not. That's facinating!!!
While I don't noodle the clues in the *xact* way you do, Allison... VERY VERY NICE job on the summary!!! XCELLENT!!
Allison I agree with most of the things you said but I'm still not totally convinced its at Conway. One reason is that its not technically considered a park.

Allison: I second Green - that's the best summary I've seen yet! Very clear and concise.
One of the other clues that played out as each one was released was the obvious absence of usual park clues. Trees, picnic areas, bike/walking paths, bodies of
water (rivers or lakes), etc.
Someone told me Langford was a rec center. Someone else also told me they didn't find it the year it was taped under a mailbox. I haven't had time to check the
valdity of either though.
Ter, Inks taking off tomorrow? He looks a little peak-ed... Mite do him some good to get some fresh air... ROFLOLPMP!!!
Langford is a park. There is a rec center at one end...but separate from the park. The other end is an elementary school. The park was definately a park. Very few
people found the park that year though.
