sorry AW- I did forget to give you the copy of Jesses book- I have it here- why don't you meet me in the 'park' ;) this afternoon, near the treasure and I will give it to you.
In 1947, Dick Mann, Howard Brown and Claude Mason pitched in $200 each, tore out the downstairs rooms of an old house and opened the Treasure Inn on the North side of St. Paul. The Treasure Inn's reputation for jazz and dancing grew. The guest stars read like a who's who of jazz... the great Oscar Pettiford on bass, Lester Young on saxophone, Prince Rogers-- senior, that is-- and Stan Kenton's boys would come out when they were in town.
The Treasure Inn soon had to turn people away on weekend nights. So many people came to dance that the floor had to be shored up four by fours to keep from caving in. After two and half years the club's popularity came to a sudden and violent end. An argument led to gunshots in the crowded club and one person died.
well...I'm going with hidden falls... I need a place to start looking.... I'm running outta time...with this hunt....
I'm just going with nothing more then 2 steps back... For some reason this hunt was blown off by me2...I had a very hard time tellin' her that AW had a hunt in Hidden Falls....even AW kinda said it was a smaller thing....
That was a fun one though :) peanut was gonna go look in the spot where it was found but I wouldn't let her cuz it seemed a little dangerous to me, shoulda let her look :(

The treasure for this hunt is hidden in a St. Paul park (not to be confused with St. Paul Park).
In 2000 I did the first Mock Hunt which was only a virtual one and was "hidden" in Tilden Park.
In 2001 I did the first real Mock Hunt which was in Linwood. Me2 found it though there may have only been 3 or 4 people looking for it.
In 2002 the Mock hunt really took off after the disappointment of Merriam. That's when Jake found it in Phalen.
In 2003 the treasure was hidden in Battle Creek in a spot Tim and I had scouted out for a hunt a couple of years earlier. Jake found that one again. Later in 2003 I did another hunt that was in Hidden Falls. That was more of a "we had nothing better to do" sort of hunt. The participation level wasn't too high and I seem to recall I didn't even manage to write all 12 clues for that one. But Regman was the finder for that one.
In 2004 we had the Marydale hunt and Me2 was the finder once again. That was the last of my hunts since this one.
Didn't Timmers mention he found a poker chip on the point at Harriet yesterday?
Yeah, it was a joke that no one got. AW already told us the treasure is a poker chip from a casino out of town.
In 2003 the treasure was hidden in Battle Creek in a spot Tim and I had scouted out for a hunt a couple of years earlier
The funny thing about that, he didn't think I was going to participate in the hunt and I did. When I figured out where it was, I almost couldn't believe it but the fact that we had scouted it a few years before, and also that I am lazy I didn't actually look very hard. (it was a rather large area of Battle Creek that we scouted)
This is for Me2. (Mwah ha ha) (I didn't write this obviously)
Before you order a drink in public again, you should read this!
Seven New York City bartenders were asked if they could nail a woman's personality based on what she drinks. Though interviewed separately, they concurred on almost all counts.
The results: IF WOMEN DRINK :
Drink: Beer Personality: Casual, low-maintenance, and down to earth. Your Approach: Challenge her to a game of pool.
Drink: Blender Drinks -with umbrella Personality: Flaky, whiny, annoying; a pain in the ass. Your Approach: Avoid her, unless you want to be her cabana boy.
Drink: Mixed Drinks - no umbrella Personality: Mature, has picky taste; knows what she wants. Your Approach: If she wants you, she'll send YOU a drink.
Drink: Wine - (bottled not 4 litre cask) Personality: Conservative and classy; sophisticated. Your Approach: Try and weave Paris and clothing into the conversation..
Drink: Bacardi Breezer, Smirnoff ice, Vodka mule, etc. Personality: Easy; thinks she is trendy and sophisticated, actually has absolutely NO clue. Your Approach: Make her feel smarter than she is...and you're in.
Drink: Baileys Personality: Annoying voice, bit of a tart. Approach: Stand close and mention the alley next to the pub.
Drink: Shots (Vodka, Jaegers, etc.) Personality: Hanging with male pals or looking to get drunk... and naked. Your Approach: Easiest hit in the pub. Nothing to do but wait.
Casual, low-maintenance, and down to earth, Mature, has picky taste; knows what she wants, Conservative and classy; sophisticated, Hanging with male pals or looking to get drunk... and naked!
maybe its not a song but T.O.T.O. = Wizard of Oz = Follow the yellow brick road = yellow submarine = the Beatles! look for a park with a house across the street with a yellow VW beatle parked out front!
2 steps back in 'time' would give you a lost treasure

Ballrooms and "Treasure Inn"

If the same, only different is what you do

go to the middle of nowhere in the middle of a feild with no trees
same only different

I really don't remember the hunt at HF's

I seam to recall a little now -but where are those clues?
I remember Ares and TMK and I and even Jake searching Hidden Falls when I thought it ended up over in Phalen. But maybe I am mixing the 2 hunts up.

The two step is a dance too. Near somewhere that they hold dances? A pavilion? A dance studio?
Just some reminders.
