watch as my post count explodes!!!!!!

so what did you guys think about the Vikes yesterday? pretty disapointing but it could have been much worse. basically the stem of their problems was the o-line. birk being out hurts a lot but I think a lot of it came from the rookie OG that was in there. when they got him out of there they really improved. as far as daunte, I felt he did okay considering. obviously he could have been a bit smarter in there but I felt he was pressing a bit. when the offense was clicking they looked flawless though, which seems obvious but honestly I think it was a good sign of things to come. we are gonna have a tough time with a much improved bungles team next week but it should be a good game. more later... peace

I'm sick of the media overstating how much the Saints win means to a homeless, unemployed person sleeping on the original Astroturf with 8,000 other refugees.

What do you mean? I'm sure there would have been mass suicide had they not won.

I'll puke if I have to hear 'America's Team' once again. I got sick of that term back when the damn Cowboys coined the term for themselves.

Personally, I'd go more for the Cubs as America's team. I like underdogs.

I tend to think of America teams in terms of Olymipics type stuff. Otherwise it's just about the region you live in for local sports when it comes to their place in your heart.

"Personally, I'd go more for the Cubs as America's team. I like underdogs."

Marketing makes the Cubs underdogs. I don't think the ownership (Which I still think is Tribuns Co.) cares whether they win or not. Matter of fact their mystique as underdogs probably is their draw.

They're Chicago's Yuppie Team. The Sox are the Dark Princes.

I've been to games at Wrigley. It's not the center of the Universe.

Very true. I don't even like baseball but know that they're underdogs. Kinda like the way the Red Sox used to be. I'll be curious how their attendance is in 5 years when they're known simply as a team that once had it. Just like most other sports teams. It takes talent to suck for so long. Anybody who's a fan of Tampa bay will tell you that. Once they had a good year, their mystique was gone. :frown:

I still like them though. Even after they beat the Vikes.

This year for sure.

Any year they clear .500 is a gift.

They shouldn't do it. They shouldn't even exist.

This city doesn't deserve the Twins. It deserves the Vikings.

All I'm saying is: compared to the fickle fans in the Twin Cities, the Packer fans are admirable. They stand with the team, win or lose.

It looks like there's two Monday night games this week. Plus I think that the Saints are considered the home team even thought they're playing in New York. I never remember there ever being two Monday night games. If there was a scheduling conflict they would always play on Thursday instead.

Brad Hopkins (Titans) served a one-game suspension by the NFL after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife, Ellen, when he grabbed her neck March 14 because she wouldn't stop talking on a cell phone.

This Baltimore -Tenn game looks to be a bad game overall-

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 13, 2005) -- Running back Larry Johnson was arrested after an altercation with his girlfriend on Sept. 10 at a Kansas City bar.

the girlfriend came into the bar and saw Johnson with a different woman. The 25-year-old girlfriend, of Overland Park, Kan., saw Johnson and walked the other way, Snapp said, but Johnson text messaged her on her phone and asked her to meet him downstairs.

The running back then grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her to the front door, Snapp said, where Johnson asked the manager to make her leave. The manager said he couldn't do that.

Snapp said Johnson became irate after his girlfriend confronted his date. The running back grabbed the victim by the shoulders and shoved her, causing her to fall onto the floor, the police report said.

The girlfriend told The Kansas City Star, in a story on its Web site, that the police report was wrong and denied that she was pushed or dragged to the door. Snapp said the woman told police she didn't want Johnson arrested, but instead just wanted the incident documented.

Friends convinced the woman the next day to file a police report after seeing bruises on her arms, Snapp said.

Johnson ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets the next day.

ok, why are there teams in bold on my picks page? Then when I go to look at others picks it shows the same teams in bold AND I don't get to see what anyone picked.

I started to think everyone chose the same teams

tim_the_hunter

the bold teams are the home teams. you dont get to see other people's picks until they are locked.

The best days:

1998 - The Vikings and their fans enjoy one of the most remarkable seasons in sports history. Led by first round draft pick Randy Moss and marble countertop installer Randall Cunningham, the Vikings go 15-1 and set an NFL record for points in a season. Kicker Gary Anderson enjoys the first perfect kicking season in NFL history.

The worst days:

2000 - The Vikings suffer the worst loss in playoff history, 41-0 to a New York Giants team that had offensive problems.
