Yeah, the old mission to mars sucked. Thats where they built the old Alien Encounter (now Stiches ride).

Epcot has a kick ass Mission to Mars ride based in part on the movie of the same name.

i'd imagine its a lot like it in principle, cm. only difference is that i never had a problem on the gravitrons :smile:

and i'd read while we were down there that it has the dubious distinction of being the first ride ever to be equipped with barf bags.

My family is in the Disney Vacation club, we joined it last year and it's great. We had gone to Disney World 3 times before then and loved it so much that the parents wanted to make it an annual/bi-annual thing. Never thought we would still be going on family vacations when I am 23 and my sister is 26, but here we are. We get to bring the significant others this time around, so that should be fun.

We've always gone the week before/2 weeks before Christmas and it's so much fun. The decorations are great and it's the least busy time of the year.

Headed there again this year from the 10th-17th.

Man... CLosest I had ever gotten to any of that was the Disney Channel

I got to ride the escalator near there, oooohhh - - scary... almost lost my lunch

I will post pics of our last vacation. But it was very cool. They do what they call veteran of the day. Basically they honor a soldier and they do the color guard and take main street flag and lower it and that fun stuff. This girl I met set it up and both Dan and myself were able to do it. It was unreal.

We also opened the park. We went to the back before it was open, rode the train to the front with all the characters. Then we opened toon town, the boys got to ride the teacups with the mad hatter and my nieces rode with Alice.

I cried all day. But thats how much I love Disney:)

Now that's a dream come true - WOW!!

Just got home from work. All the major hwys and roads were blocked off. The local roads looked like mice scrambling around trying to find their way out of a maze. I was one of them. I can't remember when it was this bad as far as the amount of rain goes anyway.

And it's all OTiS' fault!! :angry: :eek: :confused: :worried:

Damn straight... and guess what I got to do my first night at work back :angry:

we lost our power sometime last night....

I wasnt home....

all the clocks are flashing different numbers....

I could care less about setting any of them...

hey, i started crying during the fireworks on our 3rd to last day there knowing we only had 2 days left.

I cried when I bought my first beer at epcot.

i've got pics of our back yard from this morning on the camera. to be posted soon.

oh and that white blob in the middle of the second picture is a piece of insulation left over from our remodel project. gonna have to wait until it dries out to get it. that stuff can hold a lot of water.

I wonder if your going to have a really cool ice skating rink.

There is a footbridge that goes over our pond with handrails waist high.... as you can see all under water. and more rain... yikes!

the funny thing is we DO have a skating rink in the winter... the light for it is about in the middle of the pond right now

Great pix ares. I want to take some of my neighbors pumping away on their yards but fear that they will think I'm building a case against them for not taking big storms into account when redesigning the shared pond in back. My yard is OK since I'm up higher than the rest. I can't imagine how their basements are since the water comes right up to their back doors. :eek:

we have a pumping station at the far end of our pond. i called the city this morning and they were gonna send a crew out to make sure that its actually working. we've got a walkout, so it'd take a lot more rain to get the necessary 6 feet or so we'd need in order to get water in the basement, but i'd just as soon not have to deal with that.

happens everytime it rains real hard for long periods of time like yesterday....

the bad thing is, you dont notice it, until you walk on it....it looks nice and dry, but as soon as you take a step, water comes up from underneath the tiles and you end up with wet socks....

had em last night after moving a REAL foosball table from Hoggsbreath to my familyroom! wet socks...wet sweatshirt, wet jeans, wet hair, wet shoes ... you get the picture?...I got drenched... then my hair got all curly from the humidity and the rainwater - that was cool!!

although I would have jacked one of their pool tables from the basement too... and maybe one of those electronic dart-boards
