well regalman, I dunno. Thinking that it is similiar to the Cherokee #4 clue which stated that you can see the large tower(s) from the medallion hiding site.
the kings direction could be something other as north, since those belong to the 4 winds. the king is the leader of a govt, maybe if we look towards the capitol from the park and see the towers
Metro State U, Astute Pigs Eye, Pirate references Chase, there is a wildlife preseve on Warner Rd. The airport deacon and First Bank tower as you look toward Downtown. Vikings reference, Burns Ave, Jerry Burns old coach, a rapscallion
Duff--you're taking way too much out of these first three clues---some of your thoughts maybe right, but they can't all be--at least you're looking in the right direction!!
Don't forget to consider the anti-clues. No mention yet of water. No mention of woods or scenery. No mention of sledding or picnic facilities. Usually these are the kind of generic items that can be found in many parks that they usually allude to in early clues. So, although there are still more clues to come, its possible that the correct park has none of these things. Or, if it is a big park, I suppose its also possible that its just the hiding place that is not near any of those things.
Did some scopin' tonight. Got some good ideas. For whoever it was up there who said "anyone thought of Highland?", I say "yeah", thought of it last night, went there, kicked around for a while and now Im pretty sure Highland is the wrong land. 7 am comin' quick, night all, see ya's tommorow!
He doesn't have a direction in the sense that the winds have directions, but you know his direction isn't South. Boreas is always associated with the cold of the North.
I think this is the first important clue. Obviously the "two towers" has potenial, but I think that if someone can decode the part about King Boreas's direction, that could be a crucial piece of the puzzle. And no, I don't think it means "look north." King Boreas is not really the King of any particular "direction," and this interpretation seems too obvious. Then again, this IS about the time to give away a general sense of the area of town to look in... But I don't think north is the anwer; I think it's something more complex.
It might mean the North part of the city, it might mean you have to stand in the park and look north to see the towers, but I believe North is the direction. St. Paul is his realm, but there's no point in saying look in St. Paul since Clue #1 already does. I really don't think you can associate any other direction with Boreas.
You'd have to define "St. Paul". Is that to say downtown? If you're in a park in St. Paul, then any direction would be St. Paul. If you mean downtown, it makes a lot more sense, except that I thought the realm of Boreas was all of St. Paul, not just downtown? Not a bad idea, but my gut still says North.
I really like your idea, Mr. Med Hunter. Assuming King Boreas holds court in or near downtown (at the main festivities), it makes sense to look that direction for the towers. But I still feel like something is not being considered; I think there is something more to this clue.
I think this clue is just narrowing down the spot in the park where it is hidden. Very similar to the Domes when it was at cherokee, and the 954 at Conway. If your lucky enough to guess the correct park at this point this clue will help but not until you get to the correct park.

Fuckyou and I'm Out Pie!
If you were to see the two towers just to the north of newell right now like I can, you'd agree. This thing sucks, all it does is piss me off.
Or just look toward Downtown St. Paul
can you see two towers north of newell?

I spose I better get to bed and save my energy. Talk to you all tomorrow.
jane, when your at work, tell me mom im working on my paper too right now
everyone should read what duff just wrote--look tword downtown--not north
King Boreas= King of the Northlands
Anybody consider Highland???
king boreas' realm is St. Paul--NOT the northlands!!!!!
So King BOreas is not the king of the northlands?
Is this me or am I reading too much into these.

I think it is in the south end of Mounds Park
Duff--you're taking way too much out of these first three clues---some of your thoughts maybe right, but they can't all be--at least you're looking in the right direction!!
Like I said ealrier, all large parks can be made to fit but I like the references to landmarks in the mounds area
I still like the Ace as more of an airport reference than any other.
RIVRAFT, check out post # 1029 SnowShadow 1/25/00 1:08AM Boreas's direction is probably downtown, where there are plenty of towers.
one of these first three clues is giving us a big hint-just have to figure out which one to pursue--outa here 5:00am is fast approaching--good luck!!

have you all read the legend of king boras on the www.winter-carnival.com site? it dosnt state his direction is north, but what else could it be?
He doesn't have a direction in the sense that the winds have directions, but you know his direction isn't South. Boreas is always associated with the cold of the North.
I think this is the first important clue. In years past medallion hunt clues King Boreas refered to the city of Saint Paul.
It might mean the North part of the city, it might mean you have to stand in the park and look north to see the towers, but I believe North is the direction. St. Paul is his realm, but there's no point in saying look in St. Paul since Clue #1 already does. I really don't think you can associate any other direction with Boreas.
Maybe the towers are between St. Paul and the park. So when you are in the park and look in Boreas' direction you would see the towers.
Sorry, yes I was refering to downtown.
Isn't Landmark Center the home of King Boreas during the Carnival?
I really like your idea, Mr. Med Hunter. Assuming King Boreas holds court in or near downtown (at the main festivities), it makes sense to look that direction for the towers. But I still feel like something is not being considered; I think there is something more to this clue.
Hey Allison, it's Allison ;o)
Hello to everyone else also.
