I've seen that site, but I was wondering, for those of you who have been there, what it's like, what you see, and all that jazz.

Kitch?

What does "vent" mean in this context?
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 9:32 PM Permalink
GreenTeam

Or should it read "bent"?

brave could be Indian brave.

LaCrosse - with the swarm from clue 1 was invented by native peoples.

The camping tourists could also be a clue for Cherokee.

The ICE Arena is named Charles Shultz. Pepperment Patty is a name of a Penuts character- its a long stretch, but honestly when I looked back, the PP likes to give us a history lesson with names of places in the park. Could also be were the nut comes into play, because a penut is a nut- call me insaine, I may agree but its a long stretch of an idea.

Kinda nice to be thinking about 3 big parks and one small one. Especially when we still don't know if it's in St. Paul proper or Ramsey county.

Time to break out the county history on Indians. There might be a red herring or two in this clue

I would love for this hunt to end at Chair-O-Key - but that's what scares me.

I don't want to fit the clues to the park...I want the clues to tell me the park.

And there is that vent word in this clue.

But I do like Cherokee and IM for obvious reasons. Still not sold on Highland yet.

Terry

I love Indian Mounds.

"Vent"

noun

- A means of escape or release from confinement; an outlet: give vent to one's anger.

- An opening permitting the escape of fumes, a liquid, a gas, or steam.

- The small hole at the breech of a gun through which the charge is ignited.

- Zoology The excretory opening of the digestive tract in animals such as birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.

- Geology

a. The opening of a volcano in the earth's crust.

b. An opening on the ocean floor that emits hot water and dissolved minerals.

Hmmm...Another reference to volcanic activity?

when I read the clue, and when I read vent I wanted to say venture, and for pitch just make it rime, picture- any streets names after a Popular pitcher?

Terry, what's the "camping tourists" link to Cherokee?

Clue #4

For the brave at heart, it's time to start

Searching hill and glen

Pitch a tent if that's your bent

But stay within your ken

Stay within your ken may mean the tens must be within your line of sight.

Thankx for posting, CM. I was gonna make it to GW but went to the Wild game and had to bring my friend back to his truck. Then ran out of steam, decided to slog the days's thread. I will see what I can noodle...

Food and Drink. Food isn't singular either.

i'm likeing indian mounds, chair o key, and vento nature, Terry it looks like a recenly reclaimed dump which it is. it will be very nice in the future, but if you thought crosby was creepy....It runs along the bluff below IM between the bluffs and the railroad.

Parks I've ruled out - zero

Parks with possibilities county wide - too many to count.

I do like Cherokee and IM. But Highland, Como, Phalen BC are still strong candidates.
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 9:43 PM Permalink
tom

I heard CHerokee use to be a camp grounds, but COMO is also a camp ground for 1 weekend of the year for a soccour / sports tourney

Time for some shut eye. I am hoping for great things to come to me in my dreams.

Hill and glen...

Brave hearts....

bents, tents and ken......

I love this time of the year.

For the brave of heart, it's time to start

Searching hill and glen.

Pitch a tent if that's your bent

But stay within your ken.

Why would the PP tell us this quick Marydale as a small park if people are thinking it?

I thought that Kenneth street ran closer towards the Ford Plant, which would be Hidden Falls. I heard Hidden Falls is closed off due to too much ice, only way to get in is by parking at crosby
