Word Origin:

ken (v.)

"to know," Scot. dial., from O.E. cennan "make known, declare, acknowledge," originally "make to know," causative of cunnan "to become acquainted with, to know" (see can (v.)). The noun meaning "range of sight" (1590) is a nautical abbreviation of kenning

I think we need to look to 2003 for insiraction of figuring out where it is hidden. I have a feeling this years clue writer is the 2003 writer, and if we don't wake up we are going to get caught with our pants down again in the wrong park

hmmm...

CLue 1: it is in a park, and there is a fair share of snow and ice

Clue 2: I am all for the nut goodie wrapper, but am still leaving it open to anything hidden in there

Clue 3: I like the smarter/wise combo to mention schools nearby, I am thinking at least 2... And I can't ignore the lovely use of proclivities... either near a playground area on this said park, or at kids height, or a sliding hill or something...

Clue 4: I can go a few different ways with this one, I like the Native American (I am so PC) references, but I think they relate to the circus as someone had pointed out. The scottish stuff is aweful strong in there too... Not 100% on this one but I am 95% positive that it is the 'what park is it' clue

So that is where I am on all of this...

So I sit at my computer, trying to get tired so I can get up at 5:30.... I should have just went to the park... :frown:

Hey I just got a click on Cherokee park for Clue 3. There use to be a brewery there, but I asked my self why would the PP tell us about the past, and go off onto a child's proclivities. Below the park are the caves the "teens" which are still kids go into, which is also about the past.

Mot sure if this was posted yet or not... My biggest impression of the word is where it is originated from, more so than what portion of the definition you use, although I would use :inclination

bent 2 Pronunciation (bnt)

glen

"narrow valley," 1489, from Scottish, from Gaelic gleann "mountain valley" (cf. Welsh glyn). Common in place names, cf. Glenlivet (1822), a kind of whiskey, named for the place it was first made (lit. "the glen of the Livet," a tributary of the Avon); and Glengarry (1841) a kind of man's cap, of Highland origin.

Well, that and the fact that pitching a tent if you want, but make sure you stay within your understanding/knowledge/kind is like, "Yeah, we can live here in *our* part, but don't drift too far into those OTHER Indian's terrority. They'll get us."

Thing izz, it didn't work and a battle ensued.

I think its pointing at highland (the tent / circus) and to stay within your Ken.

Dig within your knowledge (I.e. NOT the golf course, NOT the pools, NOT the police station, NOT the parkinglot of the candy company.)

There is a lot of friggin woods on the south side of this park.

Being middle english, I believe ties in to the languages of that region... Until 1603, British and English Monarchys were seperate... in 1603 they were ruled by one monarchy to rule the entire United Kingdom.

Per the official website of the queen... http://www.royal.gov.uk

I don't know... but I think there may be something to it... But BC over by Mounds looks good too... for different reasons that I am up to late to talk about right now...

G'night all!!

Everything about clue four seems to be coming up with a Scotland tie to it, which leads me to think Highland. Also, look at the current show that Circus Juventas is putting on:

"Dyrnwych takes you to a land far away, in a time long ago, beneath the lush canopy of an enchanted forest deep in the Highlands of Scotland, a peaceful hamlet is about to fall under the spell of three mischievous hags."

I'm so sold on Highland. I intended to go out there the last two days, but the powers that be have kept me from getting out there. But tomorrow I'll be there, at all costs.
