Home from Highland. There are about 40ish people out there with people coming and going all the time. A few of us did find a great hiding area - snow or no snow.

There have been a lot of good noodles here about BC and it is still on the list, particularly since it is also a rec center. I guess we'll see what tonight brings.

Agreed....

I think it was a well rounded representation of the mass quantities of various types of trees, found in that specific park.

FYI-

Someone told me this in a park and Google/Mapquest also report this:

The area between 7th, Montreal and sort of Edgcumbe is called Walsh park not Highland park. Look up 937 Lexington Pkwy South to see it on a map.

Yes area but it is two parks.

The parks website calls it at preserve. Anyway, maybe we'll find that in a clue.

I'm off. Hope to see you all tonight at GW or at the PP. People usually start showing up at GW around 8:30.

Well I am sure many of you think, after reading yesterdayÂ’s post, that we have somehow misled you all into a wild goose chase, and to white Bear of all places! A far stretch from our comfort zone of St. Paul isnÂ’t it? Well we do apologize for taking you outside the comfort zone. This after all is a game, back in the 80Â’s we would pursue the Medallion all over Ramsey County and much of the time, our hunches were right. ItÂ’s too bad that in the last decade the rest of Ramsey County, outside of the comfort zone, is just a fond memory of hunts past. You see, I am afraid, after reading todayÂ’s clue, we are right back in the comfort zone again. In fact we should have never left. It wasnÂ’t that White Bear was wrong or a stretch. The city of White Bear was where we erred. What we should have realized is the White Bear reference was for the avenue not the city. And White Bear Avenue takes us right to the park we need to check out today, Battle Creek! Here is todayÂ’s clue.

Clue # 4

For the brave of heart itÂ’s time to start

Searching hill and glen

Pitch a tent if thats your bent

But stay with your ken

The first line, Braveheart, was a battle. William Wallace was the brave heart commoner who united the 13th Century Scots to battle the English rule.

The second line, searching hill and glen has double meaning. The park itself is one that has ever changing terrain and severe topography. The park has both extensive wooded areas as well as extensive grasslands. BENT, in the third line, is also known as a grass. Down in the lower part of the park is a narrow valley or GLEN with sandstone bluffs and steep slopes only reachable by trail. In the upper part of the park you in fact have hills for sliding. Between the Upper and Lower parts of the park we have two avenues named HILLSdale and GLENridge.

The last line refers to staying with your ken. Ken defined is your range of sight or understanding. I think what they are telling us here is to stay within the comfort zone of St. Paul not out in the rest of Ramsey County. It could also have meaning later when we will need to keep a visual reference in our sights.

So there you have it for today. right back in our comfort zone of St. Paul and Battle Creek. Happy Hunting!

thank you medallioncentral!

I got this from puckprincess on the PP boards.

brave of heart=william wallace, who was a valiant of the highlands in scotland.

the flower of scotland=an unofficial national anthem about william wallace:

O Flower of Scotland

When will we see

Your like again,

That fought and died for

Your wee bit Hill and Glen

And stood against him

Proud Edward's Army,

And sent him homeward

Tae think again.
