Have we been able to cross reference our list of possible parks with shelters with those that have views of a tower or two to the north or toward downtown?

Alison, can you cross reference the parks with shelters and the parks with tennis courts?

I kind of agree vikesfan, I have gained respect for Derick, so I am going with him but he got the clue at 11:20. Has the clue EVER came out before 11:30?

Terry

Newell has tennis courts - just across Fairview.

I agree with vikesfan. It's not that I don't trust Derick (though he misspelled "your" in line 2 which screwed me up). But every year some crack comes through and claims they are an insider at PP. Or that they are the sysop of the site. Or something like that.

Vikesfan!!! The OFFICIAL clue is also put in the paper and released at 11:00! I had someone call me with the clue! You can be ignorant and not believe 30 people, but is that really a smart idea??

I know mounds still fits real well, but I am sure all large parks do at this time.

how would have the other website gotten the clue? somehow, i think this is trying to lead us astray

MedallionStallion

Terry, are those tennis courts IN Newell park? or jus nearby?

Cherokee has several shelters, tennis courts and views to the north. I'll keep checking the others as I go.

First, can anyone tell me about battle, i have never been there. Can you see downtown, is it high or low ? Clue 4, could it refer to a bus shelter in front of a popular restaurant?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:35 AM Permalink
Terry

They are considered part of the park.

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:35 AM Permalink
Birdie15

The courts are across the street from Newell but they are apart of the park if I remember right. Dug there last year

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:35 AM Permalink
New Daddy

The tennis courts are considred part of Newel;l but are accross the street form the main part of the park

derick, why isn't the clue on the website? it said the next clue would come at 12:05 and it is now about 12:40.

Birdie15

Derick, got any idea why the PP has not released the clue on here?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:36 AM Permalink
Jett

Hey Vikes, its the real clue okay. Its not even close to the end to worry about being lead astray. I trust Derick so should you. I am off because I got an 8 o'clock class. Good luck Terry and Allison. My vote still lies with Highland.

Last year they had a typo in one of the last clues that really meesed up the meaning! It was pretty incredible to see all the people run when I discovered th TYPO!!!!

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:36 AM Permalink
Birdie15

anyone call the PP yet to ask why?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:36 AM Permalink
DerickDavis

Server errors, or they got pissed off that I published at 11:20????

I'm not going to Newell for another four clues, just on principle

Cherokee, Como must have them somewhere, don't see any in Hidden Falls, Highland does, so does Mounds and Newell, can't claim to see any in Phalen. I always thought the tennis connection was pretty shaky though.

Allison--Oh it's at Phalen, baby.

It is wierd that the PP hasn't posted it yet!

I think they are doing it on purpose to get a crowd for thursday night contest down at the PP!

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:38 AM Permalink
Duff

So did I until serve came up again, and when I think of an ace I think of Tennis or Airport?

I agree about not heading out to Newell for a few more clues

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:39 AM Permalink
Birdie15

anyone gunna call down to the PP and ask why it isn't up?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:39 AM Permalink
Tiny Thumbs

Como does have tennis courts in zone 3 if you're using the guide, but shelters don't seem to be nearby at all. There's the butterfly ones in zone 2 and the pavillion in zone 6 but that's all I can find there.

One other thing yall might want to consider is that the medallion might not even be placed until the last couple of days!

It's another way for the WC to get people excited over a two week period! It raises money and gets people out to events!

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:40 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I really can't see putting it at Como when it was there just 3 years ago.

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:41 AM Permalink
MedallionStallion

At this point I think tennis courts hold water. Clue one "try a new obsession" and clue 2 "ace" can be read that way . . .

It just hit me, "carefull inspection" from clue three is an important phrase

THIS SUCKS! Did the PP offices move out west and they are confused by the time? Has the medallion been found?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:42 AM Permalink
PIE

They have said that last year the medallion hadn't been placed until the last day!

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:42 AM Permalink
vikesfan18

what's up with the PP? someone should be getting fired for this. anyways, if this clue is the real one, it still points to Highland allthough all the locations they refer to are relatively apart from each other.

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:43 AM Permalink
Duff

Settle down they will post it, with all this snow it will not be found till next week.

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:44 AM Permalink
Austin

Hey Pie, if that's the case, why did a was it found it in Battle Creek after, what, 4 or 5 clues a few years back?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:44 AM Permalink
PIE

I really think they have delayed laying it to enhance the WC!

If someone finds it by clue 6 it could wreck the WC on a cold year!

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:44 AM Permalink
MedallionStallion

PIE -

Medallion has been found by clue 6 sometime in the past five years.

It is out there as we speak, be sure of it.

Allison, I agree about Como. As I look at Phalen, though it doesn't have tennis courts, I'm noticing a pumphouse in zone 4. Could that be a connection to "well"?

maybe they are rewriting the clue?

Well kids, I must be off and running.

Keep having fun with this clue though!

LOL!

if you are by the track and the tennis courts, it is north

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 12:47 AM Permalink

Hmmm, Highland does have two shelters, but they are fairly far apart.

It's already been hidden - well covered up by the last 2 snowfalls... You've all been out there towards the end and don't you think there are WAY too many people out there for someone not to see someone hiding it (especially as far under the snow as it has been in the last couple years)?
