Man what a bummer. The garter thing is funny though. Wish I'd had a chance to dig more. :frown:

Did I mention depression? At least we were in the right park. Some years we've missed.

Green or Mom - call me when the clue explanations show up, please? Thanks!

Will do. I wonder when that will be. Do we have to wait until tomorrow?

Ter, did you call Cindy?

Tell her I've committed hari-kari and still won't be in Monday...

JUST JOKING!

Hello.

Well, the ONE year I managed to score a half day off during the hunt, I just pick up the kids and probably got 6 blocks when my mom called to tell me it was found!

Depression sets in.

I'm almost sure we can't come out tonight. Hannah gets tired so quickly, she can be a handful after dark. Tomorrow, time will tell. I've got the company party in the evening. Guess I can scratch coming to the paper and digging afterwards.

Sunday - I am totally unprepared for the rehash this early! Daughter #1 has a birthday party invite in the early afternoon. Scheduling should be interesting.

What's up tomorrow? What's the coming out party?

What is SAD?

SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a type of winter depression that affects an estimated half a million people every Winter between September and April, in particular during December, January and February.

It is caused by a biochemical imbalance in the hypothalamus due to the shortening of daylight hours and the lack of sunlight in winter.

For many people SAD is a seriously disabling illness, preventing them from functioning normally without continuous medical treatment.

For others, it is a mild but debilitating condition causing discomfort but not severe suffering. We call this subsyndromal SAD or 'winter blues.'

And sometimes "cabin fever".

Ohhhhh this is just great!

The day started off well enough... I woke up, read the clue, found out I was still in the right park...read that Green had bottle rockets coming out where sparklies used to be, it was a great morning. I was all ready for being the finder....But first I had that one meeting at work to get thru....Got finished and checked on-line one last time before leaving, and what happens? Depression....Every year I say I'm not going to try to work during the hunt, and once again work got in my way!

For some there is a cure for SAD but this year the dose was cut in half and the cure failed to take hold.

'Bones, start saving those vay-cay days NOW. Don't get caught w/your pants down again!

And if you change jobs, let your new employer know that you've already made plans (reservations, flights, SOMETHING) that can't be changed for next year's Hunt.

Christ. Only six Clues. Damn. I was really up for this year's Hunt. I actually used a shovel today and had plans to actually chop, if not dig.

I never got to use my my headlight that's got a white lite and a nite vision lite.

(sigh) :coolfrown:

My new high-powered recharble flashlight didn't even get to the end of it's first charge on this hunt! At least my new shovel worked over some BC snow.

green

Well, :pbpt:

Reading Mappy Gooey's book in the back o'your car does NOT count! I wanted to use it in BC, look Cooler - like I knew what I was doing! :sheepish:

I wanted to HUNT with it!

We've got one o'those shakeable thighys, that never wear out, nothing never ever needs to be replaced (yeah, like *I* believe *that*).

Trouble izz, I can never shake it hard enuff to make it do anything. Never lites up for me. :eyeroll:
Fri, 01/27/2006 - 11:39 AM Permalink

Didn't you use it to read that one sign? At least I thought you looked cooler doing that with your headlight.

green

Don't know. Did I? I can never tell if I have it on or off unless I'm totally in the dark. Ittiz a wee bairn o'a lite...

We all gonna drink Scotch tonite?

I just mite stick around... Things seem to more like 'in the day.' A kinder, gentler Crew. More all for one instead o'everbuddy for themselves.

Besides, I gotta get Emelda, or Justine, or whatever her name is to you... She's trying to get to Oz, I believe... She's gonna bee my age beefore she gets there!

Ian, looks like I'm gonna bee practicing tomorrow in my new GREEN, glo-in-the-dark bowling shoes. Let me know if you're interested.

A number of people are meeting tonight at GW at 7pm for a pity party - everyone is welcome.

By the sledding hill!!! That area was searched the most in the park. Not a very creative place to hid it with poor snow.

congrats to the finders.

hope to see ya at the pity party.

well shit, and dance around it. There's barely enough in these clues to make good door prizes. Is someone going to invite the finders, so we can present the "Golden Pick"?

Also was it ever confirmed about a fire pit/ring?

Let's just have it down at Crosby again- that was a good spot.
Fri, 01/27/2006 - 12:59 PM Permalink

Read that as "Golden Prick"...

Choked on my own spit.

I'm bummed. no one understands the let down after it is found but the 'cooler crew. I went to highland this morning, so no one; went to BC around noon, my hunt mate kept saying "no one is here, where is everyone?" so I said , "oh oh, I better check the hotline". The minute I heard the guy's voice instead of the female's voice, i knew it had been found. Sigh, it was good to see everyone that came over to this site, names from the past.

just where is your mind, young woman?

What are you doing tonight?

Do we know what part of the park we are having the party?

Where it always izz...

Don't know. Gotta better offer than The Pity Party? Or are you asking me to be your date?
