Did you go on the anniversary? Also... how far is that from I35? I would like to take the bike down there this summer.

actually, sarah says she's seen their eyes poking out of the wooded area where mucky hid the geocache when she's gone to the bus stop. then they run off. they're scared as hell of humans. and we;ve decided that when the dogs go out all three have to go out at once, just because of the pack mentality. this spring we're gonna take them out across the yard to take care of their business. not that they can't smell our dogs anyway.

We figure our 2 collies Storm and Nadia are bigger than the coyotes... so our little shetland sheepdog(38lb) Honey would be protected. We also have a dog run with an 8 foot fence. As far as the kids are concerned... not too worried as the coyotes shy away from human contact. Good thing our cat is an inside cat though  We are gonna pass the picture around to some of our neighbors with small dogs and outside cats. Someone told us the coyotes were around when we first moved in... we thought the story evolved from a drunken hot tub party next door as it took us over two years to actually see them ourselves.

I THINK!!!!

its really weird that you see them during the day...

according to my grandfather....in regards to timberwolves....if you see them during the day they are starving and looking for anything to eat....

I thought so too Kitch... and they looked to be in really good shape. Looked like a male and a female. They were so big and their fur was longer than I expected... thought at first they might be wolves. I suppose the construction that my neighbor is doing down the woods from us may have something to do with seeing them on the move in daylight. Like I said the neighbors have told us for years that they were around and this is the first time we have seen them. If I start seeing them on a regular basis during the day I will have to make some calls because I agree with you that it is very unusual.

Coyotes seen near homes or in residential areas rarely threaten human safety. Coyotes are abundant across North America, yet only a very small number of attacks on humans have ever been reported. Like many animals, coyotes can grow accustomed to buildings and human activity. Homeowners should eliminate any food sources that may be attractive to coyotes. Nuisance coyotes can be harassed with loud noises (shouting, or banging pots and pans) or spray from a garden hose to encourage them to avoid certain properties. Homeowners should realize that if they live near suitable habitat, fencing may be the only method to completely eliminate coyotes from travelling near homes. In rare cases, where coyotes approach humans or where human presence is high, efforts to remove coyotes may be justified.

Coyotes are most active at night but may be active during daylight hours particularly during the young-rearing period and longer days of summer. Daytime activity by coyotes, in the absence of additional evidence, is not indicative of rabies.

He was part of a rock and roll review at the Minneapolis Auditorium. My friends and I took the bus over. And yeah, it was awesome!

Then I saw him again in 1974 and was another great show. Went last time in 1977 and not so much. :frown: Should have quit after second show.
