oddly the davinci code wasn't all that interesting puzzle/code wise. Most of the stuff in the book was so plain and simple to figure out, like the last codeword on the keystone, had it figured out when they read the clue included with it, but the book took another 20 or 30 pages to tell ya what it was.

there are books with codes in them? I thought the divinci code was just like a fictional novel about something or other.

<---- apparently needs to read things other than chick lit.

I get confused, just trying to read those crossword puzzle books....

oh there's conspiracy nuts out there that try to find puzzles contained in the books (rather bible-codeish if you ask me, patterns in the chaos and whatnot).

But the book talks about some codes, they're just not all that amazing.

I'll start looking at those things, as soon as I can figure out this one book that I got for x-mas back when I was 10 or 11....

Its one of those ones that has a buncha pictures, with shapes and crap hidden in them...

like sailboats, and race-cars, hot-air balloons, animals, etc....

well,not sure what thread to post this in and I havn't checked sources other than my own math skills to see if this is all true:

1) New York City has 11 letters

2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.

3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.

4) bill clinton has 11 letters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9+ 2 =11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3+1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.

4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:
"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."
That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.
Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:
Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first
plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the
Summary of the eRumor A verse in the Koran, which happens to correspond to the date of the Attack on America, predicts that "the wrath of the Eagle" would be felt throughout the lands of Allah.
The Truth
This is a hoax.
The quote is not from anywhere in the Koran (or Quran).
Chapter 9 verse 11 actually says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and we make the communications clear for a people who know." (M. H. Shakir translation)
Sorry honey. I know it's fun and all but one could probably make any number fit anything if they really wanted to. That is neat that someone took the time to put that together though.
http://services.pcl.com/projects/Archived/5128028/index.aspx
The IDS Crystal Court Waterfall is a seven-story tall, free-falling waterfall. The water is pumped up seven floors to a 30"-diameter halo with 16 nozzles on it. The water falls back down into a 29-foot-diameter granite basin. The location of this one-of-a-kind waterfall is the IDS Crystal Court, part of the IDS Tower, which is considered to be MinneapolisÂ’ first (and premiere) skyscraper at 51 floors. The waterfall is the second highest indoor waterfall in the world. PCL completed the project in four months, five days ahead of schedule. This project was the center of attention during the entire construction phase.
2nd highest in the world....way cooler!!!
They could have at least made the location "Twin Cities", seeing as how Summit Avenue is one of the choices. :chagrin:
Doesn't look good for Summit. Something like 17% vs 71% for MOA.
- The stunt is no longer just a week underwater (but he does have oxygen and will be fed nutrients by tube) followed by holding his breath for 9 minutes - it's now a week under water, get dragged out of the water and then get shackled wtih 150 pounds of chains, put back in the water to hold his breath for 9 minutes and break out of the chains
- He does have a catheter to take away his number 1; he hasn't eaten solids in a week because he doesn't want to do number 2 (ew!!)
- He's wearing special boots that seem to have weights (or else he'd be floating at the top); he is wearing pants, though people wondered if he had on diving pants underneath
- There are medical types and diving specialists monitoring him; he supposedly lost 50 pounds because the skinnier you are, the less oxygen you need or something (he did look pretty skinny)
