Ok, There is a statue in memory of the ice castle built in 1986(?) at Phalen on the west side of the park. It has 2 peaks on it. (The tower or two) depending on where you are looking at the statue from. + astute unscrambles into statue. See my posings around 6:00pm tonight for the rest of my theories.

D Dave, there were two ice palaces recently, one at phalen, and one on Harriet. But the bigger one I think was at Phalen.

Goerge...nice to see ya again...tell me this, when was the last time someone found the medallion by digging randomly at a park while there is no forsure site on the 4th clue? Digging is for the birds right now...

moneyhungry, I know Wakefield is in Maplewood. That's why I explicitly unlabelled it as a guess and stated it was more or less a piece of trivia. We all know it won't ever be anywhere in Maplewood again after the fiasco the last time it was in Wakefield.

go to the water cooler page and it gives you the option to look at all the years past

Places it is not!

CHEROKEE, BATTLE CREEK, MOUNDS PARK, SWEDE HOLLOW, KELLOGG, IGHLAND, COMO, HARRIET!!!!!

This is called the process of elimination!!!

I will go further into depth in a little while!

Most reasons pertain to the clues and where it has been hid in prior years!!!

The thing that gets me about the two tower thing at phalen is a clue last year (it said a 9 a 5 and SOMEWHERE a 4) when really there was no need to say SOMEWHERE a 4...it is the exact same way with a tower OR 2...

Well Highlander if someone does find the medallion by searchin like that they better get on the first plane to vegas and let that 10 g's ride.

they could be meaning also that there is a tower if you look one way and a tower if you look a different way

Diggin' Queen

They can give away anything at anytime. Plus we've had a change in clue writers across the years. So it's anyones guess. I personally think it's at Phalen or Highland. I'm hoping phalen though, cause I live in No. St. Paul. P.S. Wakefield is deffinatly in Mplwd.

Good observation, high. I read that clue and took it that the 9 and 5 would be near each other, and the 4 would be visible, but not near the 9 and 5. Big mistake, but it was relevant, because not only was the address 459, but they also referenced the backstop number with the 4 (so the explanation says).

Highlander...WHY???

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 10:32 PM Permalink

Yes, I like highland cause of the water towers, & the airplanes overhead. ACE

Well I think i have figured this crap out. I work at the Highland Golf Course and know highland park from the back of my hand. In one of the clues it says "Serve" and "Ace" Well of course that would be Tennis and there are tennis courts at highland. Then if you look North from that point you can make out the water towers on hole number 5. Then the shelter from Rain is the pavilion that they have.

I have a feeling that it is at another park that it hasn't been at before

Becuase the clues fit so well...I could go into detail but it might take a little bit...I'll post my entire theory in a bit considering were only on clue 4...just hold on a few minutes

DD:

I'll let you know in a little bit, just finishing researching a few more items!

I'm confident on elimination but will need clue 5 to rule out a few more parks!

After clue 5 I will be able to nail in down to 2 parks! That is a guarantee!!

I was there everyday but never figured it to be in the NW corner of that playground! The clues and structure up there were very misleading!!

You must remember I called Conway after the fifth clue last year!

Water towers on hole number five? Are they in play or do you get a drop?

Wed, 01/26/2000 - 10:34 PM Permalink

either that or the biggest park that they have in st paul highland phalen or battlecreek to name a few

Pie-I'll give you your props--you were the first to suggest Conway. I was live and on-line when you did it. And I went back to dig at Linwood.
