I've been preaching about spay and nuetering to anyone who would listen. ESPECIALLY LARGE BREEDS AND CATS! The ONLY people who should breed are breed experts who do it for the love of the breed, not love of money.

3-4 million dogs and cats die a year.... simply because there are no homes for them.

Support your local shelters.... preferably ones with low or no kill rates. Either volunteer, donate money or supplies, or even better - Adopt a friend... and adopt for life.

Whitney (my 10 yr old) is collecting $ for a big donation to a shelter right now if anyone wants to donate. (I know weeeeze all poor) but its cool that she is doing it. I paid her to Caddy for me yesterday (I always pay her $1 per time) ---not only is she donating her summer caddying to the shelter, but ALL the money she has saved up to date (except what she had to purchase an ipod ofcourse) since Christmas ($98 so far to the shelter). I thought it was the Ramsey County one but if anyone knows a better one let me know. It may be for that no-kill in Hastings. (I have not looked at her paperwork yet).

I don't even wanna try the math.

Here's some thing cool I heard about this weekend and wanna try some time.

Ziplock Bag omlets

A fun project for a party or family get together!! ............................................. "ZIPLOC OMELETS" Have you ever heard of this? (This works great! Good for when all your family is together and no one has to wait for their special omelet) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them . Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake, Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece. I beat the eggs in a cup first to make sure they were well mixed. .

funny isn't it?

I got this in my email this weekend

ZIPLOC OMELET

(This works great!!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!!!)

Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.

Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake.

Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water or use a large stock pot.

Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.

Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you got a nice omelette for a quick breakfast!!!

we used to make those camping all the time too, one tip though, make sure the baggie doesn't sit on the side of the pan, baggies melt

Thats what I was worried about. I thought they would melt just with the water. I'll definatly try them next time we are up north. Be nice because there's no cleanup. Plastic forks, paper plates, one big pan of water.
