it was a blast. aside from people taking bets if I'd fall out of my top dancing on stage to the 'jump jump song'... (i didn't, they lost) it was a night no one will soon forget.

cm, with some of the vantage points you've got you could have a unique niche on one of those stock photo sites!

cm already has a 'niche' and you can't get any better -

it reminds me of a giant bed

one of those number beds -inflate to the comfort level of your choice

I plan on becoming an Emporis photographer. That site you showed me looked good but you had to give them a credit card # to get started. I didn't like that since I didn't plan on buying anything only just contributing.

I was just told the other day that I missed my calling :frown: ...I love photography but there isn't any $$ in it. I have to have a camera in hand at all times- I hate to miss anything

UMM...HOW DID YOU??

DONT U LOVE HISTORY???
Thu, 10/05/2006 - 8:31 AM Permalink
me2

I loved taking pictures way before history.

and you know how passionate I am about history

it's the same for photography

I just don't get to do it as much and personally, I get cut down around family when I do it. They don't like it or that I like to do it cause they don't like to wait while I take a picture or be in the pictures

ok- I'm off to treasure hunt and get pics!

soooo, if anyone wants to discgolf - I can from 2-4 today! or tomorrow!

I have prolly 20000 photos (printed) from the time I was a kid. I have photos of the dumbest stuff, but it makes me happy.

bottom line - I should do what makes me happy but it's not as easy as it sounds- so bottom line becomes making others happy

Or.. I'll just make my own pictures. Today's learning. How to model grass. Yeah, plain old dull as dishwater grass. Still, It'll be a useful skill in a project I thought up. (Also on the docket, modelling a jack'o'lantern, hopefully in the next week or so).
Thu, 10/05/2006 - 12:42 PM Permalink
Love4Vino

the wizard of oz was a hollywood themed flower garden -which leads to the wine tasting area

um yeah - that was an accident photos I forgot to take out. they are bigger than the corn ears I'm standing next to tho!

those are the only tractors at the fair here, the historical ones, no machinery hill. no union building. We do have a walk through area with some big redwoods and a bug building.

It sure is a beautiful day out there today. I actually decided to leave my perch and get out for lunch for a change.

The last shot was taken through my polarized sunglasses. a little known trick to make things seem warmer

those tanks by the way are 46,600 gallons each - there are 6 of them (3 are behind) and have to be filled and emptied 2twice to homogenize (sp?) are two largest blends the Sonoma County Chard and the Alexander Valley Cab.

The pix was taken from my office which cuts off about half of each of the tanks. They are a little over 30 feet tall and 21 feet wide.

It's nice to see downtown with out all the power lines.
Fri, 10/06/2006 - 7:11 AM Permalink
Clue Master

You're killing me.

Those power lines bug me any time someone takes a picture from the Stone Arch Bridge. All you need to do is go out about 1/2 way and you're under them. I always liked my other shot except those damn lines.

And now I'm thirsty. Thanks. Thanks a lot Vino.

We may have the sun but you have the booze. :goofy:

Heres a couple pics from Afton State Park.

Lots of eagles were out. At one point we counted 18 of them in the sky at once.

Great shots 3M! Was this taken at Afton State Park too? It's an awesome vantage point.

wow. those are all awesome guys! what pretty colors you have there! If I ever remember my camera when I'm out in one of the vineyards with redleaf damage I'll try to remember to take some photos. but I think MN has the market on pretty changing leaves.

those are some wonderful shots- I love sandstone pics and that one 3m, reminds me of Gilligans Island 'lost on the north shore' - I think the second pic (the one after the eagle)is my favorite AND the sign - I have a sign pic around here somewhere - I really like them for some reason - dont know why

I'm getting the Duluth bug as much as the discin bug. The need for agate pickin!
