I enjoy those lonely road type shots
The lake is on the Eau Claire Lakes chain in Bayfield County, WI. It's about 30 miles north of Hayward in a tiny little town called Barnes.
I was 18-22
Would have dated ANY cranberry girl at that point of my life....they are all loaded $$$$$$$
...ah...how I've grown up and realized $$$ isn't everything.
but let me put it this way
The costs of establishing a cranberry plantation are very high for an agricultural commodity—generally between $50000 and $70000 per acre
but most of the cranberry familys not only had about 500 acres each...they also had family stock in oceanspray
yep...everybody wanted to date a cranberry girl.
and that's just an acre. Almost better to get them established, a couple of years ago you could get planted/producing acres in Napa Valley floor (scarce area) for about a Mil an acre.
Cranberry girls eh? I could see you with a Cranny Kitch.. heh.
I know part of the major cost is moving water around to the bogs..
It's already taller than the building where I work.
kind of. that was one of those places i didn't get to see because tc was out during the day taking those pictures.
It looks like they're building a city in a year!
Is OSHA in other countries like that?
ares & tc? did you go castle touring? that would rock.
I especially like IMG_8352
8399 is cool to see trees amongst all the old structures
I love pics of bells
and 8412 is a beauty of a sunset shot
we caught the sunset shot last night as we were walking our of our hotel, j.
and kitch, i'm still looking. no luck yet.
That's some fantastic architecture you have over there. Great shots TC! Thanks for posting ares. I'm glad the weather looks like it's cooperating for you enough to get out and about.
Please tell me that you were able to tour the Anne Frank house. That's my #1 place on Earth that I'd like to visit before I die. It looks like it was in one of the shots.
he said he tried to walk across the floor -tiptoeing and the floor would creek :frown:
that was one of my favorite books and movie as at about age 9 :frown:
btw, belgian beer == good. which is really hard for me to say as a non beer drinker. we had some cherry beer at a little pub last night. pictures to come later this morning as i edit them and resize them.
eek.
that pic that ESD shopped up looks like it's from Peter Pan
Last night I found some B&W's that my father had taken when he was in the service in germany. Some of them are really good shots for being so old. when I have time, I will scan them with his comments that he wrote home to my gran. Lots of bombed out buildings, but some really amazing other shots.
also - in my grandfathers album, he was in Hawaii in 42-45, and wow, there are these photos of people harvesting pineapples, and a luau that are amazing.
and then there's the pics we'll be taking in london this weekend and paris on monday and tuesday,
DON'T MIND ME...I'M IN THE BACK DRINKING THE BEER..EATING CHIPS...TALKING OUTLOUD....AND SNICKERING.
Or Me2... maybe you've come across it in your line of business?
EAWDEN STUDIO @ 14 East 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN ??
It was at one time a photo studio - one of the photos I found when going through my Grandfather's photo album's was of a child and the stamp on the back was from there. I am wondering tho if its a real photo or post mortum. It has the rosey cheeks and is kinda a creepy photo. This side of the family had no ties to MN, so it wouldn't be a baby photo from my mom's side, as it was well placed in my grandpa's photo album.
The only thing besides the stamp is the words 2 years and 21 days.
I believe it to be from pre 1942 - as the book from what I can tell goes in Chronological order, and the ones that follow were from his time in Hawaii in the service 1942-45.
any insight would be appreciated
I'm attaching links if you are curious
