Seems if I get here to slog, that's about all I get done before something else drags me away.

We spent the weekend up north and then went to Duluth and Two Harbors with some friends on Saturday. That sure was nice. The weather was chilly, but with the sun and little wind, it was nice to spend time in my favorite spots.

Spent all of Sunday afternoon and into the evening with my Mom in the ER. She had some trouble with her one shoulder that caused a bunch of pain. They then overdosed her with some narcotic pain medication and thought they were going to send her home like that.

She lives alone and is almost 80 years old. I looked at that ER doctor like he'd lost his mind and said no. They admitted her and kept her overnight until the effects of the narcotic wore off and she was able to go home. Idiot!! You don't even think of sending an elderly person home so looped on narcotics that they are numb. Even if she lived with us, we would have never managed to get her in the car and into the house.

Our daughter has found a decent airfare home for Christmas so we're excited about that! She'll be home for about 10 days!!

Guess that's the newsy news from around these parts.
