Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Clues:

Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet

Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul

Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

don't forget dig around all the other spots in the near vincinity of the spot you like. And any spots near those too.

And after you're done with that, go dig in your spot again, cause ya might've missed it.

I have a my birthday party on the 21st though there's not much hunting going on at that point. The 27th is going to be a busy day for me. I'm definitely busy from 11 am to 8pm. I suppose at that point though I might as well stay in St. Paul rather than drive out to Bloomington. Still, I did get the 26th, 29th, and 30th off of work if it actually goes that long this year.

People who only pick one spot and think they'll have success are like the fools on the frozen lakes saying the fish are all under this 8" hole....if I could pinpoint fish that well, wouldn't I have caught some in the summer?!?! :frown:

I'm going to make sure that the first time I have to take a drunken leak, while out in the woods, this year.... rather than take a leak, I'll dig RIGHT where I was going to pee....

If I follow that guideline, I'll probably find it on clue 3 or 4.

I have a 2 million candlewatt flashlight that I plan on blasting in that guys eyes if he starts that thing up again. I might even push him down and take the thing. It'll be in the woods and I don't see anyone fingering me if he complains. Heck I might even get a few cheers in the crowd.

the last 3 years in a row....

after seeing the actual spot that it was found at - and saying I f'n pissed there!!!.....

this year... will NOT be the same result.

Taking a leak on 10-grand, is only fun for so many years.

Of course the problem is we have no guarantee at all that the hunt will be done well. We'd like to think that the clues are clever and that the hiding spot is devious, but let's look at recent history:

2002- Hidden under nothing but a thin layer of melting snow, sitting right at 2nd base on a baseball diamond.

2003- Frozen in some ice in the middle of a big wooded area where none of the clues would actually guide you to.

2004- Green doughnut, need I say more?

2005- Under a piece of bark in a wooded area.

2006- Covered by some snow on the side of a hill.

Some of those were better than others, but none were really brilliant. I would expect more of the same.
